*Tonight on the network, you are getting a sweeping view of a row of lit up pumpkins outside the center in Azalea! Meticulously detailed ones, at that! Most of them have the faces or shapes of Pokemon carved into them, while some might resemble certain people Hayate's met in Johto. Either way, it's all rather nice to look at. Though someone might ( Read more... )

[She got her Pokegear fixed! But now she's all curious about the pumpkin carvings and the holiday.]

Mr. Ayasaki? What's "Halloween"?

N-No? Is it one of those Japan things? I hear stuff about Japan a lot...

Ah, well... It's actually more of an American thing... But it's celebrated in a lot of places, including Japan! It's a holiday that's mainly known for having children dress up in costumes and go trick-or-treating!

*Making a little motion to the pumpkins* Carving pumpkins like this is a tradition, too. But for most people, it's all about ghosts, witches, costumes and candy.

Oh! That sounds really, really fun! What day is the holiday on?

And what's trick-or-treating? [She will absorb the knowledge like spongeee.]

It's the last day of the month, so it's pretty soon.

Ah, right-- Trick-or-treating is when children go from door to door dressed in costume to get candy! You say 'trick or treat' when they answer the door, though the 'trick' part isn't an actual threat or anything, it's just part of the tradition.

I wonder if there are any costume stores in Violet City. And the candy bags might be sold out in PokeMarts, right?

[Then she's thinking a bit...]

Ghosts and witches... Some people might be scared though.

Oh, there was at least one store that sold costumes! Or made them, at least... I had to go there once to get one for a job. As for the candy, well... Any kind of container will work, really. It's a matter of finding who has treats to give out.

Aaa... Yeah. For adults, it's more about being scary and having a bit of fun dressing up on costume than there being candy.

Adults don't go for candy either? But they're good!

Ah, well... The candy is mostly for children. The adults get to keep whatever the kids don't take though!

There would still be some left over? I would think that the kids would take all of the candy by the time Halloween is over! Well... unless there aren't that many kids.

Er, well... It would depend on how many kids there are, and how much the adults bought! Like... some might buy a lot just to have some left over to keep to themselves.

Then why would adults give the candy away in the first place if they wanted them too? [Confused Cocona is confused...]

It's a tradition! Only really mean adults don't give out candy, even if they do want to keep some of it.
