this has been a week of mediocrity and sorrow. confusion unbridled and laziness.
why is it that man can only fall after achieving his peak?
is there not an endless amount of upwards movement?
life seems to be an endless need to reach a goal and then after all the pain, heartache, and strife taken to become what you've aspired to be, immediately undo all that you've gained. gleefully even. why is loss so much easier than gain? someone should really talk to that god fellow, and tell him that he mixed it up.
finals next week. horray.
in our math books, there was a problem today and it began like this, "Horatio gleefully fingered his horde..." how wrong is that? of course, the rest of the problem was about his horde of coins, but still the wording was just wrong. then, there was another problem that said, "Of the 288 students, 22 found that lubrication was almost impossible." I dunno where this guy comes up with this stuff. I'd write him and inquire, but he's dead. oops.
in 'a defence of poesy', sidney postulated that the poet is superior to the moral philosopher and the historian, in that the poet is able to encompass both teachings. Simply because he is able to inspire, "for he doth not only show the way, but giveth so sweet a prospect into the way as will entice any man to enter into it." He considered the poet to be the "monarch of the sciences." Yet, his writings mostly encompassed his passion for a lost bride, or his disappointment. So, the man was not the example he would hope to set, and now my class has to imitate his ideal poet. but, don't listen to me. i'm just bitter because i'm being forced to write poetry all the time, and it's really ruining my love for english.
and my dad's computer broke. suck.
my attempts at fixing it seem to only make it worse, and then i fix what messed up and it's right back where i began. then, i try and install something to fix THAT, and it freezes during installation. just... you know... go to hell computer. hate you.
i strongly advice running away from any form of technological knowledge. and fast.
it is the source of all evil, and frustration.
humbug on the broken computer.
