Dexter's back. YAY!!!
While I was looking online for some kind of reactions, I found an interesting review
here for those who might be interested. Not completely sure that someone on my Flist is watching Dex.
Dex/M C Hall = love.
James Edward Olmos = love.
Apart from that this first episode kind of surprised me, rather in a good way. It was so funny to follow him at his high school reunion, that was priceless and more than that it's been refreshing to see him on a dancefloor (and fraking adorable too)...at least for me. I won't hide my pleasure to laugh while watching an episode of Dexter, it's always nice.
But more than that I'm very curious about the deep religious themes this season is using, is Dexter really asking himself those kind of questions? Frankly I doubt it. He knows he does not believe in anything and for me it's just one of those things that happen in life sometimes when you're in charge of someone else...in this case, Harrison. Dex does not ask himself questions about his own spirituality in this episode and what seems to annoy some people would be the fact that he hasn't come to term with himself yet, after 5 seasons, which is not what happened there. Not for me. Maybe there will be consequences futher in the season, but for now, it is not what's happening.
It hasn't been the most exciting episode for an opening-season, but I'm feeling optimistic that this season will be ablme to make me forget the previous one, at least some parts of it. The showrunner has changed, which should be also a good thing because let's face it, I may be biased but I know the same question is asked for every TV show: does the longevity play against quality?
Hopefully not.
I want to squee anyway, because it's good to have him back. Someone with me along the ride?????????
