I have ordered Chrome Dreams II CD/DVD Special Edition. It should ship tomorrow. Which means I'll probably get it before the end of the week. I wanted to order Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere with it, but I would've had to have left the house to make a deposit in the bank first and I really don't want to leave the house right now. I'll get Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere, Déjà Vu (Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young) and Harvest next month I think. At the same time. Saves on shipping costs. I figure it's time for me to continue building up my legitimate Neil Young collection... whether I can afford it or not.
Amazon has started selling MP3s. I want hard copies, not MP3s. Beautiful artwork, lyrics, pretty pictures of Neil, CDs and jewel cases- things I can carry around with me without printing them out first. Eventually, bands are just going to stop making CDs altogether, like they stopped making records and tapes (some bands may still put these out, but it's definitely not the norm).
It makes me sad, because I guess I'd taken hard copies for granted. Supply and demand, man. People are more into buying MP3s for their iPods and whatnot. The artwork gets forgotten. Also, a CD or record feels more reliable and I like seeing my favorite artist's beautiful face in high-quality, photographic pictures instead of on a screen or printer paper.
None of the new shit seems tangible, and it disturbs me. In short, DO NOT WANT!
Give me the retro stuff, 'cause I guess I'm just a retro girl. :/
