I think I wrote about Monday morning's route already, so i won't repeat myself again. Graham gave me a shorter harness handle for the afternoon's route and it was 100 times better then the morning route was. I'm not used to this big tall dog, so the position of my arm wasn't right. Also, the long handle wasn't allowing me to feel what he was doing very well. But the short handle was great, and he's a super guide.
It's funny coming in to class as a retrain this time. My roommate Sandy and I are the only ones doing the action program, so we work alot together, and have a blast doing it. We've both gone from having little females to having big males, and both of our dogs have had issues with pace. Being a retrain is funny because the staff are constantly reminding us to use commands the dogs know. Like for example Lennon Stop it isn't a real command. lol I can't remember who it was, there are lots of retrains in this class, but today somebody said "What the heck are you doing, damn it? An instructor popped up from nowhere, (they like to do that), and asked if their dog's name was damnit? lol
I wonder what these trainers think of us when we're not there. Damn retrains and their habbits. But we wouldn't have so much trouble if they wouldn't change the commands on us all the time. We don't use here anymore, and we use come instead. We use heal instead of come, and it's very confusing. I don't know how many times I've told Lennon to come when I should have said heal. He totally forgives my stupidness though, and puts his big head in my lap or licks my face. I'm glad he forgives me. He's such a good boy. His work was almost perfect this morning, and no, Graham wasn't holding on to the harness. lol Sandy and I worked in doubles, and aside from a few steady commands, I barely had to do anything but follow. I still can't believe he's so responsive to everything. What a difference from Maeve. She was a good dog too, but I can't help noticing the differences between them. They were like night and day. Apparently, she's doing great and she's very happy with her puppy raisers.
Well I'd better run give somebody some water. Talk to you all later.
