Today was relatively uneventful and boring. The only really interesting thing that happened is Colyn taking, or rather, not taking his medacin. Both ears are infected, so the doctor put him on biaxon. We've had problems from the very beginning with this medacin. For one thing, they gave us an expired bottle, and if my mom hadn't been there, I'd have just given it to Colyn, without knowing. Boy was she mad! She called the store and really chewed them out good. In the end, they delivered another one to us free of charge. So after all that, we can't get him to take all of the 3 mls that he's supposed to because he spits most of it out. I've tried putting it in food, formula, and adding sugar to it, but I can't fool him. He knows all my tricks. So if anybody has any ideas as to how I can give him his medacin, please let me know.
I got an email yesterday, from Paul. He said that he'd like to schedule a visit for Sunday the 8th. Now the story behind all of this is that Paul was supposed to visit Colyn last Friday. So I woke Colyn up early, even though he'd had a rough night Thursday night. I got him all dressed, and we had a few minutes before we had to be downstairs, so I quickly checked my email. Good thing I did! There was an email from Paul saying he wasn't coming down because his lawyer was out of town, and he didn't think it was in the best interests of Colyn for him to visit. He also asked that I don't call him anymore, not even to tell him about Colyn. I think his lawyer came back and told him what an idiot he was to miss a visit, and for telling me to stop calling him, and that's why he sent this email. Basically, his lawyer couldn't get hold of my lawyer, so it was recommended that Paul contact me, to see if I could book the activity room in our building for him to use on Sunday. It was too short notice for him to even see Colyn on Sunday, because I already have plans with Colyn tomorrow, and I need at least a week to book the activity room. I did tell him that more then once, but as usual, he doesn't pay attention.
On a similar note, I go back to court on Wednesday to decide who gets custody of Colyn. For some reason, Paul seems to think he can take care of Colyn full-time. I'm not quite sure he really knows what that entails because he never took care of him while we were together, but if he wants to try, who am I to stop him? He's really messing with the wrong mommy, because I have been Colyn's primary caregiver from the beginning, and I have professionals, including CAS, who will support me in my fight to keep my son in my care. But you never know how the courts will rule, so we'll see what rules will be set out for Paul and I on Wednesday. It sucks that I have to leave Colyn with a babysitter, and that I have to go all the way to Toronto, but hopefully this will all be over soon enough. I'll be happy to have this all set in stone, so I know what I'm doing, so I can plan for the future.
Well that's all I can think to write for now. I'm going to take cold medacin, and go relax and watch a movie.
