Eventful Weekend

This weekend was so freakin awesome! Friday afternoon I drove out to Rock Island to see Charlie, cuz he had a choir concert on Saturday afternoon. Friday night we went to a hymn sing at the lutheran church, which was cool, then we hung out with a bunch of his friends and watched LOVE ACTUALLY. Then Saturday we slept in, then went to rehearsal, then lunch with his mom. His concert was that afternoon. There are 4 choirs, each of which sang a song that was written and directed by Alice Parker (she wrote TIS A GIFT TO BE SIMPLE, and a bunch of other songs for choirs). She also directed the hymn sing that we went to on friday. So that was all very cool. Then I left there at 6pm and drove home. When I got back I hung out with my friend Joe till like 4am, and slept till noon on Sunday. Then Sunday afternoon, all of the performing arts majors met at the scene shop, and we hopped into a couple of vans and drove to Chicago. We went to the Goodman Theater, and saw Arthur Miller's (he's the guy that wrote Death of a Salesman, and the Crucible) FINISHING THE PICTURE which is a new play. We all expected it to be rather dry, but it was quite humorous. The cast was AMAZING! Let's see, Frances Fisher--Rose's Mom in TITANIC; Scott Glenn--VERTICAL LIMIT; Stacy Keach--PRETTY WOMAN; Stephen Lang--DEATH OF A SALESMAN, TOMBSTONE; Linda Lavin--ALICE; Matthew Modine--BYE BYE LOVE; Heather Prete--BOKSHU THE MYTH; and finally, Harris Yulin--RUSH HOUR 2, BEAN, MULTIPLICITY, IF THESE WALLS COULD TALK...!!! I have not been to downtown Chicago since I was like 7. And, I must say that it was freakin' AWESOME! Perhaps I am just a big huge geek and am way too excited about all this, but I don't care...It's great to be a dork! Well, I have to go write a biography for our show, so I will go now. TTYL! Nicole
