1. Seattle is a dynamic city, and often structures that stand one day disappear the next. I observed this personally today on the triangle of stone across from the Westin Hotel, in between Stewart Street, Westlake Avenue and 6th Avenue. Until recently on the site stood a brick and bronze structure which was once the entrance to a public restroom. I was walking on that territory today when I realized, “wait, this is new.” I gazed around on the freshly hardened concrete which obliterated the old character of the place.

2. I’m already planning my fifth annual Super Bowl party, Saints Vs. Colts. The NFC Championship Game was one of the more suspenseful games that I’ve watched (Not More suspenseful than Super Bowl XLIII New England and New York Giants, but even I was getting anxious, and I‘m practically neutral).

3. Because I’m moving out of my apartment at the end of the month, my place is kind of a mess; it’s half-packed. The move out at the end of the week will be very organized (I hope), I’ve been working at it for the whole month and most of the boxes will be uniform in size.

4. A commercial for Pepsi Throwback features Bob Dylan’s “Forever Young (Continued).” This version of “Forever Young” is much more lively than the slower versions that until recently has appeared in various compilations. The version played in theatrical commercials includes Will I. Am. rapping one of the verses but the song is good enough to stand on its own merits, and the 30 second TV commercial doesn’t even feature him. This led me to search for a copy of Planet Waves today.

5, I’ve also found a new messenger bag and have been sewing patches onto it. It was tough going at the outset, but I’ve regained my form. Unfortunately, I’m having trouble finding Royal Blue.
