[ continuing this thread]

"Yes, that's true, but I'm not some kid you have to treat with...with kid gloves," it was as if just a little of Daniel's eloquence has taken a downturn with all the alcohol. Daniel slowly made his way to the next open urinal. Way too much to drink for him. Everett and Jack would have drank him under the table, but Daniel had never had it nearly this bad except on Abydos once. And that was because Skaara decided to take the moonshine and put some of his own special Skaara enthusiasm into the strength of it.

Never drink what he offers you. That's lesson number one.

I have the strongest urge to get Daniel into tequila slammers. colunderfire October 11 2011, 08:18:00 UTC
Everett chuckles and slaps Jackson on the back. Probably not the best move to do at the urinal, but it was a small miracle the colonel was able to keep his own stream straight.

"Relax, will ya?" Everett says, grinning. "Hell, if you can't take this without being too serious, you won't like being on SG-4."

Oh god, I think he'd puke with just the next beer, hi_there_aliens October 11 2011, 08:21:52 UTC
Daniel swore under his breath, and had to put his hand out to brace himself on the wall. Then he realized the wall was in a public restroom. He sighed to himself.

"I wasn't taken seriously in my own field. Jack doesn't take me seriously most of the time now anyway, what's your point?" Daniel's mood was starting to take a turn for the worst. "I'm sure loaning myself out to some teams won't be much worse. You sober enough yet to give me an answer?""

Great! More room for booze. :D It's still not gonna stop Everett from drinking more colunderfire October 11 2011, 08:47:04 UTC
Everett sucks his cheek. "If I remember this in the morning, I'll sign the transfer paperwork and see what General Hammond has to say."

He finishes his business and zips up, moving to wash his hands. "Think we should head back." He comments. "Need to get some more beer in before the store closes."

He glances back at Daniel. "Don't worry, I won't expect you to drink any more." He chuckles at that.

He might puke in sympathy if he has to watch him drink even more hi_there_aliens October 11 2011, 09:09:00 UTC
Daniel finished up after him and washed his hands. It was lucky they were drunk, because holding a conversation while pissing next to each other wasn't ever a comfortable experience, much less politics within the SGC. Or talking transfers to his possible next team leader. The tiny, tiny, tiny sober part of Daniel hoped he wouldn't remember this in the morning.

"Thanks, you're an Okay guy," Daniel grinned. "You do that." You have his blessing. But thanks, he's hit his limit. "We should get a cab though."

Safety first.

Probably. If you have any further topics. even random-ass ones, feel free to pitch 'em. colunderfire October 11 2011, 09:11:24 UTC
"Sure. Store first, then cab."

It wasn't going to look good, rolling back to the base, drunk and in a cab, but, hey, it was Everett's night off. He was entitled to getting stone drunk and talking politics with an archaeologist.

Weirder things have happened.

I am totally winging it *sob* hi_there_aliens October 11 2011, 09:15:16 UTC
Daniel caught the Colonel's arm.

"Wait. Where are we going after the store? Your place or mine? Mine doesn't have a guestroom but I have a sofa," Daniel didn't wait for the Colonel to answer before blundering on. It felt he had to let Everett know what he was walking into. At least wasn't the floor or something. "I don't have guests over that often so..."

Winging it is perfectly fine. :D colunderfire October 11 2011, 09:17:27 UTC
"Well, I've only got my room at the base. I live in Washington with my wife." Everett explains. "I can probably bribe the guards, but it might be easier if it was your place. Sofa's fine. Slept in worse."

Wow, that couldn't be fun. The base quarters weren't known for comfort. They were kind of depressing, now that he thought of it. Why didn't the Colonel get an apartment or something nearby? Or move closer with his wife?

"Why bribe them?" he asked as they wandered outside. "They know us both, they'd let us in."

Wow, it was cold out here. It knocked some of the buzz out of him. Daniel didn't particularly appreciate it.

"You 're getting the cab fare," Daniel added. Since he was offering his place to crash, it only seemed fair. It seems to have been conveniently forgotten that the Colonel bought most of the drinks.

"I get paid the most, so fine." Everett admits as they approach a nearby convenience store, in which Young buys an additional 2 six-packs.

"You call the cab, then." Everett points out. "And I'd have to give them some beer. It's not fair to see other people rollin' in drunk when you have to be sober."

Daniel definitely looked green for a moment there. Two more six-packs? He didn't even want to know where the Colonel was putting it away. Or how bad a hang over he was going to have in the morning. He took the opportunity to dial a cab service while he waited for Everett to finish his business.

"You can't do that. They have to drive."

"Talkin' about the guards on base, Daniel." Everett says as he joins Daniel outside. "If you know anything about soldiers, it's that most of them like a drink."

He shivers a bit, drawing his uniform jacket about him a bit closer.

"I knew that," Daniel said too quickly. Now he was going to hope that the Colonel forgot most of tonight. He's usually quicker than this. "I just assumed they had to actually, you know, work. Be sober on the job."

Or Hammond will have a fit if he finds out. Daniel folded his arms around himself. He didn't miss this weather at all. Give him miles of sand, heat, and desert nights, and he was happy as a clam.

"Pft." Everett waves a hand in a dismissive motion. "One beer won't do no harm. Boosts morale."

The cab eventually pulls up and Everett moves to get in the back. "s'not like I'd be givin' em a keg each."

"No, because you practically drank it all already," Daniel agreed. He got into the back of the cab, and after giving the driver the directions, slumped back into the seat. He'd never seen such a comfy car back before.

His eyes started to droop.

And Everett's arm finds his shoulders again. "Hey, stay with me, soldier. We're nearly there."
