Sweden had its problems during around 1745-1830, since the whole population were actually drinking themselves to death. After that, some laws were written down to prevent alcohol for being served and sold everywhere, and all the time.
I kind of miss those days...
*muhahaha*
Nah, seriously. I think we sometimes has the same problems with games. We are playing ourselves to beyond time and reality. My friend called me today saying that he lies in bed at night, thinking of games, what he should do next with his char, how he is annoyed that he is stuck somewhere and that he needs to get information on how to develop in this and that game. The only advice I have to give him is to play even more, but different games. Cause the more games you play, the more they become a big fog in your thoughts, that soon will be cloudy to see straight in and so you will loose your focus. Then you stop thinking about them and just play them.
The best way to get over a temptation is to get more. Soon you'll be living in a world where you like everything around you. Thats when you can sleep at night.
