So I just found out right now that Capcom shut down the PS2 server for Monster Hunter. Not only does that ruin any chance for online play, but the game was never outfitted for local play so we're double fucked. Even more so, without online play, you can't get the better carves off of harder monsters because you have no one to help you. That means you can't fight the harder monsters in solo play. Thanks for the half a game, Capcom.
Now, if anyone wants to play the series, they have to shell out cash for a PSP and play it on a small screen. OR you can be an unlucky person and owned a FAT PSP instead of the slim. The bonus for the PSP slim is that you can buy ($10-$20 USD) a PSP/Component cable that allows you to play your PSP on your TV.
I now own Monster Hunter 2 on PSP. You can't play with anyone unless you download a JAPANESE ONLY patch to allow to play online. I still haven't tested it with 2 PSPs with legal copies to see if you can play locally on WiFi.
Monster Hunter Unite is coming out in like, 2 months. I hope to god I have a PSP slim by then and hope the game has online capabilities.I'm still going to buy it and play it. I just want to be able to play with other people. Is that so much to ask?
