An Early Christmas Gift

Jenn and I went to eat dinner with my dad last night, since we're spending today with my mom's family. He took us out to easily one of the nicest restaurants I've ever been to. I had an awesome buffalo tenderloin and we shared a Wild Game sampler dish for the appetizer. I've never had elk before, but that may have been my favorite meat of the night. For dessert, we shared their croissant bread pudding. It was easily the best bread pudding I've ever had.

Anyways, we drove back to my dad's new house (where we met up) and he showed us around for a few minutes. He wanted to show off his projection system when Jenn and I both noticed a stack of old Popular Science magazines. She asked my dad where he got them and that's when he said they were for me, an early Christmas gift.

He got a stack of 1933-1937 Popular Science magazines at a garage sale for a dollar a piece. The lady selling them clearly didn't know what she had! Jenn and I are going to have the ones with the best covers framed and the rest put in plastic storage to keep them from decaying further. So freaking cool!
