Figures that the first week I take a break from rec'cing, SO MANY GOOD FICS ARE PUBLISHED (+ I cover a bit of my fic backlog). AKSDJLAKSDJLASDK. I really don't want any of these to pass by quietly in my delicious bookmarks so here they are! FIC PICK #2: {MARVEL} As It Is Written by hoosierbitch

The first time the teachers send a note home with Clint, about his problems, about how he’s dumber than the other kids, his dad’s not angry. He just laughs, which, Clint realizes, isn’t actually better. warnings: The story's about someone with a learning disability, and there's internalized negativity about it as well as verbal abuse from other characters.
Why you should read it: It didn't shy away from the difficulties of a person suffering with dyslexia and really tugged at my heartstrings <3
FIC PICK #3: {MARVEL} The Time to Find a Place to Land by BlackEyedGirl

By Phil’s count, this is his third attempt at bringing the Avengers together, although he will admit his participation in the second attempt was more symbolic than anything else. He hadn’t expected Stark to be the easiest sell, or Barton to be the most problematic, but things have changed since he’s been away. warnings: explicit references to the non-con implications of mind-control, trauma recovery, a couple of oblique references to sexual non-con on the level of the film, obedience/taking orders as a kink (discussed, consensual), ableist language.
Why you should read it: Do you ever get those anticipatory shivers when you're reading a fic that's just hitting all the right buttons/is packed full of repressed emotions? This fic made me feel that.
FIC PICK #4: {MARVEL} Leaving Doubt to Fate by Sinope

Why you should read it: It's a fix it but not quite- made me ache&love throughout this journey.

Why you should read it: I LOVE IT SO MUCH AND THAT'S ALL I AM GOING TO SAY :D
FIC PICK #7: {MARVEL} The Twice-Told Tale by arysteia

For someone he'd hero-worshipped for so long, Steve Rogers in the flesh is a pretty big disappointment. For one thing, he keeps looking at Tony as though he reminds him of someone else, and even if he never says anything, Tony's pretty sure it's his father. A lifetime of not measuring up to Howard's expectations is more than enough, thank you very much, and he's certainly not going to make an effort to live up to any of Steve's. Steve's pretty clearly failed to live up to his expectations, in any case, and that's not hypocritical at all.
Why you should read it: This fic was a slow build up for me and the half-way point was so unexpected; at first I was like o.O and then I was like 0.0 and then I was like ♥_♥
