My feet are cold. Very very wet and cold. The UBC campus is now a series of lakes, rivers and streams. My feet were fairly wet but then I made the mistake of looking where I was going instead of at my feet and walking into/kicked the lake of water that is outside of the library entrance. Now my shoes and lower pants are fully soaked.
Speaking of soaked, last night Wolfgang and Hawk got their first... baths!
Wolfgang went first. She tends to like water and getting her tail wet so I thought it wouldn't be too bad. It was going pretty well until I realized the shampoo was sealed so I had to take my hands off of her. She climbed up my shoulder and escaped the tub! Eventually I got her back in, but then she knew it was possible to get out. So she did so by using her super cat power strength to pull herself up my body. The last time she did the climb, her head went into my hood. She calmed down or froze and I was able to rinse her off once and for all.
The drenched cat known as Wolfgang went out into the living room and started the many hours of licking/sucking the water out of her fur. Hawk helped until it was her turn.
Hawk didn't even see it coming. You'd think the horror on Wolfgang's face would have tripped her off. I never let go of her and she took it well enough. She didn't mind the shampooing but she hated the rinsing. We discovered that under all her poofy fluffball fur, Hawk is a scrawny little bugger! She is definitely smaller than Wolfgang. She hopped onto her scratching post that we put by the fire and started the all night process of drying off.
This morning they were back to their dry selves but extra soft. They don't seem to have held a grudge, but how can they when we control breakfast?
