The chili is in the pot. Simmering away. My first chili. Hopefully it is yummy. There was a problem with the debit system at Safeway and I think I got my chili makings for free. Mmmmm free chili.
Ive recently gotten the recipe for Czech potato soup. Its my favourite, and I am going to make it a lot this winter. Noah has been making Borsch, and Gulash....yum, paprika and garlic. Noah also makes the best soup and chili ever....hopefully he will make lots of that this winter also. Did you make a good chili? Was it vegetarian or meatalishous?

That sounds really good! We have a spicy lentil and broccoli soup recipe in our recipe book, but Ive never heard of turkey sausage and lentil. Tonight I made a spicy vegetable soup with lots of spices, and cabbage. I was surprised how good it was, and I made so much we will have soup for the next three days! Just in time for the temperatures to drop. Take care!
Here's one of my favourites - i'll see if i can remeber everything
1 piece pork tenderloin - about a pound 1 green pepper - slice thinly 1 large onion (i like it in big pieces) three carrots - cut in big coins 1 can consumme soup 2 tablespoons vinegar *i've used everything from white to malt and it works) 2 tablespoons brown sugar 1 tablespoon ketchup
2 beaten eggs and cornstarch
Cut the pork in thin slices and coat in the egg - then roll in the cornstarch until covered.
Brown the pork in oil then add pepper onions and carrots.
Then, combine the soup, sugar, ketchup, and vinegar - pour this over the meat and vegetables.
I find a few tablespoons of red wine or port is good too.
Simmer covered for 10 minutes
It's nice with rice and some slivered or crushed almonds sprinkled on top.

You should come over sometime...I wanna do a breakfast bbq...it will involve French toast, ham and egg cups, and a smoked pork belly..
