anxiety, noun;
distress or uneasiness of mind caused by fear of danger or misfortune.
Minho's face remained stoic, his body still and hands clenched in a tight fist as he stood there, waiting for Jinki's answer. Minutes have passed and he was beginning to feel his heart cracking, his mind telling him to run, run, run until Jinki steps forward and smiles up at him: warm, affectionate and loving.
breathtaking, adj.;
thrillingly beautiful, remarkable, astonishing, exciting, or the like.
Every time Minho kisses him, Jinki makes sure that his inhaler is nearby him. Just in case.
cheat, verb;
to violate rules or regulations.
"I hate you!" Minho shouts, stomping off towards his bedroom and slamming the door shut.
Jinki blinks, a little surprised at Minho's sudden outburst. It was rare for the younger man to show his anger but Jinki knew he hadn't meant those words so he stalks up behind Minho and sits beside him on his bed, saying, "Come on, Minho. It's just a game."
Minho knows he's being childish about this but it doesn't change the fact that Jinki cheated and won so he keeps his arms crossed over his chest and pouts even further.
Jinki simply shakes his head and smiles amusedly at how competitive his boyfriend could be.
de-osculate, verb;
to kiss warmly.
A press of Jinki's lips is all Minho needs to make his day a whole lot better.
eccentric, noun;
a person who has an unusual, peculiar, or odd personality, set of beliefs, or behaviour pattern.
Many people think that Minho is weird, with his big eyes and small head and always silent character.
But Jinki thinks these are the things that make Minho, well, Minho and he likes every bit of it.
fingertip, noun;
the tip or end of a finger.
Minho likes playing with Jinki's fingers. They're short and a little stubby, but they're as strong as iron. The tips are calloused from playing the guitar and piano too much, but always smooth against Minho's skin.
Though the thing Minho likes the most about Jinki's fingers? It's the way they lace perfectly against his.
ghost, noun;
the soul of a dead person, a disembodied spirit imagined, usually as a vague, shadowy or evanescent form, as wandering among or haunting living persons.
"Hyung, are you okay?" Minho repeats for the nth time, enveloping the shivering Jinki tight in his arms.
Jinki is too horrified to speak after seeing the spirit that looked so much alike Minho, and clings harder onto the younger man, managing to mumble out a series of, "Don't leave, don't leave, don't leave," against his chest.
hide, verb;
to conceal from sight; prevent from being seen or discovered.
Jinki looks at his reflection in the mirror and sighs. Hanging loosely around his body is Minho's dress shirt. It's far too big, Jinki thinks. The shirt is slipping off one side of his shoulders, revealing his collarbones and neck. It's only half-way done (Jinki's attempting the sexy look) and it shows a large expanse of skin. Underneath he's wearing nothing as the shirt falls down to his knees. He tried to tousle his hair in a way that would make him seem sexier but failed to do so and now his tresses are sitting a top his head, poking in every direction possible. To make matters worse, his skin is a dark glow of red, due to the thoughts swimming in his head at what Minho might possibly do to him tonight.
Would Minho like this? Maybe I should--
His trance is interrupted when Minho calls him. "Hyung? Are you alright in there? Should I come in?"
"No!" Jinki answers quickly. "I-I'm c-coming out n-now," he stutters in nervousness.
Taking a deep breath, Jinki opens the bathroom door, and peeks into the bedroom. Minho is on bed, shirtless. His back is against the headboard and in his hands is a book. Jinki stares for a while, taking in the sight before him. Adrenaline is rushing through his systems and he feels ten degrees hotter than before. Gulping, he squeaks out, "M-minho?" and manages to catch the younger man's attention immediately.
Minho puts the book down by the night stand and tilts his head to the side, smiling in amusement. "Hyung, why are you covering yourself behind the door? I can barely see you. Come out."
Jinki hesitates for a moment, chewing on his bottom lip. "O-okay."
And when he steps out, Jinki doesn't even remember why he was so worried in the first place when he hears Minho's soft gasp, followed by a, "You're beautiful."
ignorance, noun;
the state or fact of being ignorant; lack of knowledge, learning, information.
Minho understands that Jinki has other friends and other affairs to attend to but he can't help but feel lonely when Jinki doesn't notice him, and pushes him back like he was the least important thing in the world.
jubilant, adj.;
showing great joy, satisfaction, or triumph; rejoicing; exultant.
It was that smile of Jinki's that had Minho become weak in the knees.
kaleidoscope, noun;
an optical instrument in which bits of glass, held loosely at the end of a rotating tube, are shown in continually changing symmetrical forms by reflection in two or more mirrors set at angles to each other.
One day, Minho had suddenly taken an interest in the instrument Jinki had made.
"For science week," he had said.
Picking up the device, Minho turned it around in his hands, trying to figure out how to make it function. He almost wanted to hit himself because the instructions were written right there on the body of the object itself. Closing one of his eyes, he looked through the kaleidoscope and marvelled at beauty of the different colours.
He was rotating the tube casually when he halted to a stop. The picture in front of him was of two people holding hands and he had no doubt that it was of him and Jinki. Minho was a little shocked that Jinki would incorporate them in a science project, but he was happy nonetheless and couldn't stop smiling the rest of the day.
lullaby, noun;
a song used to lull a child to sleep; cradlesong.
Some nights Jinki would wake up with a fright, sweating and panting heavily like he had been running a marathon and during those nights, Jinki was thankful to have Minho beside him, calming him down into slumber again with his sweet voice.
monster, noun;
any animal or human grotesquely deviating from the normal shape, behaviour, or character.
"Hyung, I'm sorry, I don't know what happened to me," Minho pleaded, banging on the door of Jinki's room. "I just--I got really frustrated and jealous and I really didn't mean to punch Kikwang-hyung. You were just too close..." he trailed off, trying to listen to any kind of movement from the opposite side. "Hyung...?" When he didn't hear anything Minho sighed. "Okay--well, if you're ready to forgive me I'll be in my room."
That night, Minho wasn't able to sleep until he heard the creak of his door and feel a dip to his bed. Seconds later, arms were wrapped around his waist as Jinki leaned against his back. "Kikwang is just a friend. Don't ever do that again because next time, I can't guarantee that I'll forgive you. Got it?"
Minho nodded and breathed out in relief, grateful to have Jinki back.
narcissism, noun;
inordinate fascination with oneself; excessive self-love; vanity.
Jinki rolled his eyes but couldn't keep the smile off of his face as Minho complemented himself in front of the mirror. He swears, if there was anything Minho loved more than him or soccer, it was himself.
oppression, noun;
the feeling of being heavily burdened, mentally or physically, by troubles, adverse conditions, anxiety.
Minho knows how difficult it is for Jinki to act as the leader. He knows how burdening and tiresome it is to carry five people's--including his own--feelings and troubles with him.
So when Minho gets home and finds Jinki hunched over stacks of paper, looking more worn out than ever, all Minho does is pull him into a hug, letting the older man cry his stress out, and whisper, "It's okay," continuously.
perfume, noun;
the scent, odour, or volatile particles emitted by substances that smell agreeable.
Jinki nuzzles Minho's neck and takes a big sniff of the younger man's scent. "Mmm, Minho, what perfume do you use? I like it."
Minho chuckles and the vibration reverberates through Jinki's whole being. "I don't use anything."
Surprised, Jinki pulls back, blinking. "So that's just the natural smell of your skin?" And when Minho nods, Jinki smiles, almost predatory. "Then I wonder if it tastes equally as sweet..." he wonders, before biting into the flesh of Minho's neck.
qualm, noun;
a sudden sensation or onset of faintness or illness, especially of nausea.
"Maybe you're pregnant," Minho says jokingly, only to receive a glare from Jinki.
"Not funny," the older man states bitterly, before another wave of queasiness hits him.
run, verb;
to move with haste; act quickly.
Jinki watches from the sidelines as Minho gets more and more offers each day. To be a permanent cast on Dream Team, to be an MC, to act in another drama.
And Jinki's happy with all of this but, "You're moving too fast, Minho-ah. I can't catch up to you."
stutter, noun;
distorted speech characterized principally by blocks or spasms interrupting the rhythm.
"You see--I--we--you know, I--," Jinki stammers and he doesn't know why he is because he's been practising this speech for hours last night. "I--we are like--bond--ugh, I can't do this." He finally gives up, burying his face in his hands.
Minho laughs, removing Jinki's hands so that he can look Jinki straight in the eye. "Hyung, an 'I love you' is enough. You don't have to go all poet on me."
Jinki bites his lips and sighs, "I love you, Minho-ah. Sorry it took me so long to say it."
"Better late than never." Minho grins and kisses Jinki.
touch, verb;
to come into or be in contact with.
Jinki loves the way Minho holds him like he's so fragile, like he would break with the slightest pressure, because this affectionate side of Minho is the rarest of them all.
unabashedly, adverb;
in an unabashed manner.
Minho was used to the way Jinki seemed to trip over his words, his feet, the air. He was used to the way Jinki blushed and shied away whenever he was nervous. What he wasn't used to was the confident Jinki, who was standing right in front of him, bold and brave and not a single tint of red on his face, saying:
"Let's have sex."
And really, how could he reject that offer?
voluptuous, adj.;
full of, characterized by, or ministering to indulgence in luxury, pleasure, and sensuous enjoyment.
Jinki had it all: loving parents, fame, money, and most important of all, he had Minho. His life couldn't get any better than that.
winter, noun;
the colder half of the year.
Minho hates the cold season. He wishes summer would just come by and shower him with warmth.
But, as Jinki comes paddling in, settling next to him on the couch and cuddling up on him, he starts to think maybe winter isn't so bad after all.
x, verb;
to cross out or mark with or as if with an x.
"No, not that one. Not that one either. Ugh, that's ugly. Oh how about that--never mind, it's not appealing enough."
"Minho!" Jinki screamed in frustration. "Will you just pick one of the shoes already?! I'm tired of crossing them all out!"
yearning, noun;
an intense or overpowering longing, desire, or need; craving.
"God, Minho," Jinki moaned, arching his back, digging his nails into Minho's skin. He thrust back against the younger man, desperate to feel more contact, more friction. "I missed you so much." He threw his head backwards, screaming out Minho's name as he came undone.
And as Minho reached his climax a few seconds later, panting and looking down at him with such a soft expression, Jinki knows that he was missed too.
zest, noun;
invigorating or keen excitement or enjoyment.
Normally, people would say that a number of things make their lives joyful.
Minho only has one answer though: Jinki.
