Author’s Notes: I need to apologize to y'all for this. I'm going to try to write a drabble every day for the challenge and for prompt one, somehow I wrote a poem. I am not a poet. Again, my apologies! :)

Broken

Eyes gaze. Lips meet. Fingers grasp.
Nails scratch. Legs spread. Bodies join.

She is broken.

And only he is allowed to see.
Because when his eyes glaze over
half open half closed
As he fills her with his maddening warmth
(his touch so different than the one she loved)
She sees that he is broken too.

Hips thrust. Backs arch. Voices beg.
Hands clench. Breaths hitch. Bodies release.

She is broken.

Peace is waiting.
She wants to claim it as her own
(like she had so long ago)
And when he strokes her cheek
Whispering nothings in her ear
She wonders if perhaps it's time.

Hands twine. Hearts beat. Souls rest.
Salvation sought. Redemption found.
