A Playful Bite
The giddy warlock sighed, what a pity, the poor wolf wasn't even awake to taste the wonderful treats which William had taken to the pleasure of making.
“Really Mike, in future if you want a new friend make sure they're at proper health and not dozing through the part where I'm supposed to give them a delicious brownie and say welcome to my home! Would you like some tea with that? Not have you saying Oh I'm sorry Will darling, he's asleep you may have to wait a while!” Choosing to ignore Will, Mike felt a headache surging through the rifts of his mind, clearly an adventurous night after a few too many alcohol beverages was not the best action to uptake nor should anyone repeat it in the near future.
“Fuck.” he moaned, the pounding getting heavier around his temples.
“Fuck indeed my friend.” added Will, his abnormally long fingers patting the top of his companion's head.
Mike cringed and lifted his arm to block any more nightmarish pats that would, without intention, torture his person. Groaning he slid back against the couch of the shaded attic and rested his face within the cool palm of his hand. Will immediately straddled his lap, happily torturing the poor half-ling.
“Aww has poor Mikey had too many?” mocked the warlock as Mike grunted in response. “Well come on then, bed time for you!”
Will immediately shoved Mike in the direction of his bedroom, the half-ling grudgingly lying down with his head settled against the soft cushions.
“Bill if you fucking do anything to the kid I'll be kicking your ass.” warned Mike before he closed his eyes and relaxed, Will's little chuckle echoing throughout the hallway and into his room.

Joe felt like shouting and shaking Nick to death, he wished for once that his brother could lay back, relax and stop being such a worry-wart. Sighing he began to hum the tune of Paranoid, all in attempt to block the sound of Nick's footsteps pacing, back and forth, back and forth, “dammit!”
At this Nick turned to face Joe, a frustrated frown plastered to his face.
“Why isn't Kevin here yet!?” Pulling out his phone Nick hit the speed dial and Joe giggled.
“Oh really Nick, it's not as if our brother suddenly became gay and crashed at some random guy's place.” said Joe, humour laced within every word.
“Hello,” Nick felt his stomach lurch at the voice who responded.
Hello
“Wait you're not Kevin!” At this Joe came to stand beside his younger brother, through the phone the person chuckled at Nick.
Oh so his name is Kevin eh, well I suppose I'd better give you my address then.
Joe waited impatiently, listening to every word his brother said, “well okay then, thanks, we'll be there tomorrow. Bye.” Nick tucked away his phone and turned to face Joe who had placed his hands on Nick's shoulders.
“Well Joe you may want to go change, turns out our brother did just that, he went out and ended up crashing at a random guy's place,” and with a pat to Joe's head Nick headed out of the room, leaving his elder brother alone in his confusion.

The sound of silent footsteps reached the ears of a dozy Kevin Jonas.
“Mmm, Nick?”
William sat across the guest bed, his pointed boots clanking against the wooden floor.
“No it's Bill, or well my proper name's William but everybody calls me Bill.”
“What?” said Kevin in his mild confusion, blinking he sat upright, the room rotating and giving the werewolf a headache. Kevin palmed his face and William grinned.
“So I have two sicklings to care for now, well Kevin, I suggest you go have a shower.” ushered Will before he tugged Kevin to his feet and lead him down the creaking stairs into the bathroom.
“Wait, what?” asked Kevin, desperately wondering where he was.
“Oh don't worry, just go have a shower, there should be a clean suit in the cupboard below the sink, towels are there as well. Okay, all good, great, now I'm going to go make us some dinner.”
Before Kevin could ask any more Bill had closed the bathroom door and headed for the kitchen.
“I suppose a shower will be good for me.” muttered Kevin, already turning the taps on and allowing the room to be filled with hot steam.
Stripping himself down, he gladly eased his sore body underneath the spray of water whilst enjoying the cleanliness of being dirt free. After a few minutes, he shut the taps off, brushed aside the shower curtain and opened the pristine cabinet, it seemed Bill liked to keep the place tidy.
Reaching for a towel he dried himself off, his hair dripping around his face in a wavy caress. Peering once again at the shelves he found a clothing article but once he held it up he almost choked.
“He expects me to wear this!?” muttered Kevin with a purely horrified expression.
No way, he'd rather walk around half naked than wear that! That monstrous, scary puppy dog suit. Doing just that, Kevin put the suit back into the cabinet and left the bathroom, wandering down the hallway and following the smell of ricotta cheese and spinach, his towel wrapped tightly around his hips.
While walking along the hallway Kevin couldn't help but glance at the photos which were framed in silver and bronze. Pictures of Bill and that Mike guy, who had rescued him the previous night were everywhere. But generally in a majority of the images, quite a few others who were unknown to him, sat or stood beside Mike and Bill.
Another thing Kevin noticed was that in quite a few images all of them had an instrument, well Bill held a microphone but pretty much Kevin figured that Bill and Mike must be in a band of some sort.
Smiling at the last frame which had a picture of Mike holding a snake and Bill cuddling a koala bear, Kevin moved into the kitchen. At the sound of footsteps Bill turned around beaming, well for the first few seconds at least because Bill had suddenly changed his expression to a sad puppy face.
“Why aren't you wearing the suit?” he asked, a pout placed on his lips.
To be truthful Kevin had to hold in a chuckle, really Bill seriously looked like a girl, what with his casual jeans and forest green sweater that were covered with a lime green apron, its frills lacing along the shoulder blades.
“Because it was a puppy suit, I don't know about you but dress up suits are scary, not that I DON'T like puppy dogs it's just... well when you're a child some things can really scare you, and,” Bill immediately interrupted.
“Oh never mind, I must have put the wrong suit down into the cabinet. I'm glad you didn't wear it Kev, you don't mind if I call you that,” when Kevin shook his head William continued, “good, but that suit's horrible, it was a prank given to me by a friend, it's cursed by the way and chooses to appear as your worst nightmare while in the the form of clothing of course but you get my point.”
Kevin nodded, his mother had taught him all of the different types of magic, this including objects which could be cursed, clothing happened to be a large favourite by the users of sugar fire.
“Well sit down Kevin.” said Will, pulling out a chair and sitting down himself, Kevin followed and sat opposite of Bill. Placing his chin upon his hand, William's eyes flickered at Kevin.
“I must ask, how, exactly do you understand?” questioned Bill while Kevin slouched, his fingers slowly tracing circles onto the table.
“I know a lot about magic, my mother taught me everything, for one thing how to recognise what type of user of magic a person is. I know for a fact that sugar fire users love to curse clothing and give them as gifts to the those who are users of rainbow elements, or fairy dust. You of course are a warlock so I understand perfectly well why you received a gift like that.” ended Kevin, his eyes peering up at Bill's, the warlock holding a knowing smile.
“Ah so you must know my profession then.” Kevin nodded before sitting upright, his hands clenched together so that his knuckles turned white.
“All warlocks or users of the rainbow elements have an artistic talent, either musical or visual. With these talents they work in the world amongst humans but also amongst demons, they travel to both dimensions, acting famous but in reality guarding and watching both humans and demons, keeping the peace.” recited Kevin, his eyes a distant memory of his mother, he'd never known his father that well but he knew his mother and missed her so much.
William reached across and touched Kevin's shoulder, patting it gently, understanding exactly what had happened to Kevin's mother.
“If it helps Kev, I did know your mother.” stated Will, Kevin feeling his eyes squint shut, tears already strolling down his cheeks and landing with a splatter on the wooden table.
“God Bill, I told you not to do anything to the kid, and look you've got him crying on our table.” interrupted Mike, his arms folded while his body leant against the sunshine coloured wall.
Sniffling, Kevin raised his face a small 'o' gracing his lips.
“No, no Bill did nothing! I just was explaining how I knew he was a warlock which lead to my mother and...” Kevin's words trailed off and he yet again slouched, his face buried into his arms as more tears slid down his face.
“Oh look Mikey, you brought the tears on as well.” said Bill smirking, enjoying the look on Mike's face, it seemed his friend was utterly helpless at the tears of anybody.
Mike slapped the back of Bill's head, the warlock merely continued to giggle uncontrollably. Pulling aside a third chair, Mike sat down next to Kevin, his palm already shuffling against the wolf's back.
“Don't think about it too much kid.” he said gently.
Kevin sighed in response, breathing deeply to calm himself.
“Yeah, thanks.” he eventually said, the words nearly unheard as Bill carried three plates to the kitchen counter which clattered loudly.
“Dinner anyone?” William asked, while pulling out a tray of spinach and ricotta puffs from the oven, the aroma enticing.
Grunting, Mike pat Kevin on the back before standing up and walking to the black marble counter, his hands piling six puffs and sauce onto a plate.
“Kevin,” Bill called, “don't you want any?” he asked curiously.
Standing Kevin fixed his towel and nodded, before the wolf even moved Will held a plate before him.
“Well then eat up, when you're finished we'll go find you something proper to wear.” stated Bill as Kevin accepted the platter of food gratefully.
Mike suddenly choked on his food, putting down his plate he hammered his fist at his chest, coughing and splattering bits of food onto the table, it seemed the half-ling hadn't noticed Kevin's lack of attire.
“Are you alright?” asked Kevin in worry and Bill merely laughed.
Swallowing his food Mike glared at Bill, “you better shut up Bilvy, or I'll have my foot high up your arse.” warned the half-ling.
Bill placed his palms up in surrender, “fine, fine, I'll be quiet!”
“Good.” ended Mike before downing a can of beer and leaving the kitchen.
Once Kevin had finished Bill quickly got him to his feet, “here.” said William, who reached into a cupboard from a room beside the kitchen, a pair of jeans and a White T-shirt held in his grasp.
“Thanks.” replied Kevin, grabbing the clothes and heading towards the bathroom, not noticing the fact that Mike no longer sat in the kitchen.

Golden lights faded into the dark as a black 1980 Lotus Esprit drove across the highway, its engine roaring.
Click-clack, click-clack.
Nick bit the inside of his cheek, he really hated Joe at times and now was a perfect example.
“Joe would you stop it?” snapped Nick, his hands squeezing the car's wheel tighter.
“Why should I? Because I'm bored. Yeah that's right bored, I'm bored because my YOUNGER brother chose to drive through the night instead of taking public transport like a normal person.” retorted Joe adding to the growing tension in the car.
“Well I'm sorry if our mother was murdered and we were cursed the last time we took public transport.” hissed Nick, the venom in his words causing Joe to flinch as a silence overtook the two brothers.
“Nick?”
“What?”
“I'm sorry!” blurted Joe, tears already gathering at the corners of his eyes.
Nick had to hold in a sigh, Joe could really be such a child, it was always this way, Nick would act like the elder brother and Joe would be the immature one, despite the differences in their age.
“Look it's fine and I'm sorry too, for being a jerk. How about we turn the radio on?” suggested Nick, Joe happily swinging his fingers around the nob, a large guitar introduction playing as one of their mother's favourite songs came on.
“Ha, they're still playing this song!” said Joe in amazement, Nick grinned.
“Yeah well 'Born In the USA' mum had always said was her classical favourite.” added the youngest as Joe nodded.
“Bah, I don't know how or why but Mum loved Bruce Springsteen.” finished Joe, his mood more tolerable at the reminder of his mum.
“Yeah,” and with a pat to Joe's head, Nick pushed down on the petal, the two brothers speeding past shadows of the countryside's valley.

Kevin looked on in shock... he felt embarrassed and highly stupid about his lack to actually knock.
“Ah... sorry, I'm sorry! I'll just leave.” he muttered before charging out of the room, a stunned Mike sitting in the bathtub and staring at the doorway where Kevin once stood.
Without a single breath Bill was already at the bathroom door, an eyebrow raised.
Sighing Mike looked at his friend.
“The kid came in here to get dressed.” he muttered as William laughed before heading off in the direction of Kevin's thoughts, a fortunate ability warlocks held was to sense the minds of those cursed.
Arriving at the far end of the hallway which lead to the stairs into the attic William knew exactly where Kev was.
Waiting at the base of the stairs he pat Kevin's back when the wolf came out of the attic, properly dressed.
“ I hanged the towel over a chair, is that okay?”
“Yeah that's fine.” Bill replied before he leaned over into Kevin's ear.
“Oh by the way,” he whispered. “Don't worry too much about walking in on Mike, he looked pretty flustered when I walked in, and that never happens.” ended Bill with a wink before walking off.
Mike having just exited the bathroom frowned when he saw Kevin, the poor wolf already as red as a tomato.
“Let me guess, Bill said something right?”
Kevin nodded and Mike was already at the warlock's tail.
“Oh Bill!” he shouted, a cascade of giggles bursting from the lounge room.
Smiling Kevin shook his head and joined them, laughing as Mike scolded Bill who made funny faces behind the half-ling's back.
Getting Bill in a headlock Mike grinned at Kevin.
“Want to know how to tame a warlock kid?” asked Mike as Kevin shook his head.
“Oh I already know, you give them a bit of sugar fire and wait for them to explode.” joked Kevin as Mike laughed and Bill pouted.
“You got that right kid, you definitely got that right,” Letting go of William, Mike sat down on the couch and Bill sat beside him.
“So, what channel kid?” asked Mike looking towards Kevin, glad that he had managed to make the wolf forget about the situation earlier.
“Um, I hear The Brady Wolves are on at one.” suggested Kevin and with a click of the remote the three watched the show, laughing, talking and having fun.
Kevin could finally admit that for once in his life, his family wasn't a burden and that for once, he could actually have a holiday, full of fun and no burdens, whatsoever.
