I love, love, love that the vampire diaries is back. I’m so glad of streams and downloads else I wouldn’t be able to watch it yet and I’d be a very unhappy Brit! It starts airing in the UK next month I believe.

The season two opener blew me away. We all knew Katherine was a bitch but she brings it to a whole new level. I’m so looking forwards to the rest of the season and seeing how things go.

Things I loved

♥ Katherine Pierce. There need to be a new name for fierce because she is it. In previous flashback you sort of know who she is, that she’s not nice, that she played the brothers but it wasn’t until she was really there that you see just how awesome her character really is. She’s sexy and dark and so fucking badass. I love her! Kudos to Nina Dobrev as well it must be awesome playing two totally opposite characters and differentiating between and pulling it off so well.

♥ Damon when he worked out it was Katherine he kissed and the whole conversation afterward at the Gilbert house. Serious awesomeness. I kind of like the whole brothers get bitchy with one another. Stefan’s feathers ruffled because his brother went after his girl. Nice. Snarky Damon is always so good to watch too.

♥ The Damon/Katherine make out. HOT. HOT. HOT. That’s all I have to say, words cannot describe the sexiness of that scene.

Things I'm not so happy about

♦ Damon getting his heart crushed by both Katherine and Elena. I mean seriously what’s that all about? No wonder he went off at the deep end and snapped Jeremy’s neck. He’s hurting, not that it really condones what he did or anything. But finding out that the woman he had been looking for his entire vampire life, that he loves doesn’t reciprocate the feelings and instead loves his brother was just too hard for him to accept. I just hope hurting Jeremy doesn’t totally ruin the Damon/Elena bond because that would really suck. She can’t hate him. I WON’T BELIEVE IT!

♦ Bonnie freaking Bennett. There was far too much Bonnie for my liking, far, far too many Bonnie/Damon scenes. I use to sort of like her in the first half of season one. Up until Grams died she wasn’t so bad but the new Bonnie I could live without. She’s far too cocky and is really annoying with all her ‘I know how to hurt vamps’ threats. Yeah, yeah we get it you know how to set them on fire and make noises that hurt their minds. Me thinks she needs dropping back into her place. I was hoping Katherine was going to do it but Stefan had to save the day. AGAIN!

♦ Elena lying to herself. Come on, we all know she is (unless it’s just my shippy mind clutching onto invisible straws). Even Bonnie sees something between Damon and Elena, it can’t all just be one sided. Maybe she doesn’t consciously recognise it yet or something; maybe it’s just a matter of time.

Elena telling Damon it’s only Stefen was probably not the smartest move when he was already hanging on to sanity by a thread. He was angry after hearing Katherine preferred Stefan over him so hearing Elena the say almost the same thing was probably a little too much for him to bear and pushed him over the edge. Maybe that was why he attacked Jeremy, to hurt Elena like she hurt him. idk, idk.

♦ Vamp!Caroline. Really? She’s the last person I can see being a vampire. This new development surprises me but I’m not passing too much judgement because I want to see where this is going. Hopefully it won’t turn into another Vicki fiasco.
