i saved a guys life today
okay so not really SAVED but i did help him out.
so im working at my dads office and i had to run to the post office to get the weekends mail. well there was one of those slips saying you need to pick something up. so i went and waited in line. while i was in line this older man (i wanna say in his 60s) passes out. so everyone in there starts FREAKING OUT and the lady behind the counter says call 911 but then the guy comes to and they help him up and ppl started asking him questions. well the next thing we know hes out again and on the floor bleeding. it seemed he had hit his head on the counter. someone asked for a coat or something soft for his head. i got over and tell the person next to the guy to get the trash can and turn it on its side so that we can lift his legs then i run out to my car for my first aid kit. pull out my gloves and apply sterlie dressings to his head inorder to stop the bleeding (the whole time this man is saying his fine and wants to get up. i tell him NO) i ask for is medical history and look for med. tags while we wait for the paramedic. once they get there i asked someone to hold the dressing in order to keep appling perssure and run out to tell the paramedics his history. we head back into the post office as im telling them what has happened. i took back over appling pressure while that talked to the man. one of the paramedics tells me "thank y ou ma'am we're got it from here" and that was that. i took off my gloves got back in line. got my mail and came back to the office.
lets just say it was a rather exciting morning here in joco for mhs!
