making up for lost time.

i  had such an amazing weekend, its so hard to get back into the swing of things here at work.

i had my first thanksgiving in 6 years, and it was perfect. this was the first year that i've ever had a "real" job that honors holidays, so i had a half day on wednesday, then thursday and friday off. my family doesn't really celebrate thanksgiving, so i packed up the dog and headed to hendersonville for the weekend.

had a nice quiet evening on wednesay and a slow morning on thursday; daniels brother and sister in law  brought their dog and joined the party around 1. dinner was amazing! i seriously think i tried to make up for the lack of thanksgiving for the past 6 years by eating WAY too much this year, but it was so worth it! everyone passed out on the couches for a few hours, then had some game time. we got his mom to play guitar hero and the boys won the battle of the sexes in scene it music edition.

sadly, it was not a total "off" weekend for daniel; he had a show friday in florida and sunday in oklahoma city, which sucked. i was so mad when i accepted those offers. so up before the crack of dawn on friday to get him to the ariport on time, and back to hendersonville to help start decorating for chirstmas! they've got a great 9 foot tree for the living room and a 3ft nativity scene that we put up above the fireplace. we spent the rest of the weekend watching christmas movies, putting up garland and lights, and for his mom and i, ornament crafting! i love that i have such a great relationship with daniels parents; to be able to go and hang out with them even when he is out of town...its makes it easier on me a lot of the time!

daniel got back really late on suday...after i sat at the airport for 2 hours....stupid holiday travel. we were going to put our tree up in his "apartment" that night but finally got home and the both of us were too tired to do anything.

we had our date night early this week and went to omakashi again last night. i have never tore through shushi as fast as i did last night. holy cow...i surprised myself! we came home and put up my christmas decorations, watched trashy reality tv and enjoyed each others company.

today we celebrate 6 months....we're having dinner with his parents and then putting up his christmas decorations since we didnt on sunday. we've also got casino royal to finish watching, and whatever else comes our way.

thursday is going to be great; we're going to see the play "white christmas" downtown :-)

and daniel is done touring until next year.
I am a very happy girl.

life, love
