Dying hurt about as much as Hal imagined. It was all academic- as the blood loss became too great, the victim would start feeling less and less, the numbness pervasively coating all sensation, pain or otherwise. He never felt the felling blow of Larxene's knife, just the feeling of falling without moving

Are you alright?

Hal nodded slowly. "Against all probability and thoughts of causality, yes." Sighing, he busied himself tugging the hood of his white long jacket up and over his head, blocking some of the rain. "New day on the planes, I assume... How many days has it been since the Reviva festival?" Good a way as any to suss out how long he'd been dead.

"Uh... 5 not including today... why?" And then it hits him like a brick. "You're not the guy that Larxene..." And a pause before he just blurts out,"No wonder they won't stay dead!"

"Yes, I'm him. Was him. I'm noticeably not in pieces now. I look like a jigsaw puzzle though," he muttered, tracing some of the lines on his arm. "That's... going to give me new and exciting nightmares." He sighed, finally paying the boy some proper attention. "I don't think we've been introduced, though you apparently know me."

"Are still him," came the almost cheery reply, but it changed at the mention of nightmares, "Just try not to think about it and let it bother you. Scarred up or not, you're alive right?"
He shakes his head, sending water flying everywhere, but that won't do much use considering its still pouring, "Nope, I've never met you, I only know you through association and that feed Larxene sent and trying to comfort Roxas."

Hal shrugged. "Nightmares aren't anything to worry about for me, really. You get used to them, trust me."
"... Roxas?" That made Hal frown, the first time the man seeming to realize the gravity of his death and resurrection. "Oh..." Hal stood up, feet sliding slightly against the wet floor before he managed to stand straight. "Erm... I'm Hal. Hal Emmerich."
Reply
"I wouldn't like to have nightmares all the time... You should really get that seen to or something. That can't be good for your health."
"Yeah Roxas. He's a friend of mine, though I think he sees me more as an annoyance from time to time." And he gives a goofy sort of grin at that, "I'm Sora, its nice to meet you Hal. You should probably get yourself out of the rain, might get sick or something waking up soaked and cold."

Nightmares were such a constant for Hal, who was haunted by so many ghosts, young and old. His smile was tight. "Probably not, no. But I've never been that healthy to begin with, so I'm kind of used to it by now."
"I know Roxas. He is- was my roommate." Hal took off his glasses again, shaking the water off them. "The same to you, Sora. And you have a point. Of course the Prism decides a torrential downpour is a good welcome back gift."
Suddenly looking around, Hal wandered a little away from Sora, lenaing over to look under the sofas and tables of the Lobby, clearly looking for something.

He doesn't really know what to say to the 'not healthy' so he just kinda lets that drop. Optimism.
"Yeah I know. He's fond of you." There's a smile, Hal doesn't seem like the type his nobody would go for in a friend, particularly when he's friends with Axel. This was a welcome change, and probably good for his Nobody. That made him smile all the more, "Course, though rain is better than snow! I'd sooner play in the rain than in the snow."
And there's a blink, head tilting to one side hand suddenly scratching at the back of his head, "Whatcha looking for?"

"I'm fond of him," Hal admitted. So like Sunny in the first days after he'd adopted her, so distant but still broadcasting their emotions like a siren if you knew how to look. And Hal was used to dealing with their type.
"Snow doesn't seep into your bones and give you pnuemonia, usually," he countered easily. "I much prefer the snow, but I've had more experience with it anyway."
"My M9. Larxene knocked it away during our fight. I'm hoping to find..." Hal dropped to his knees, working his arm far under the front desk. "Oh, good." He pulled the gun out and immediately started checking it. Functioning fine, several darts burst, probably from the shock it'd received, but there were some good ones left. Hal busied himself reloading the clip, leaving out the useless darts. "I'm not going to be so easy to kill this time."

He just blinks at the gun and what Hal's saying. Wait he's going after her now? No no that's not smart, "This time?! You're not going after her right now are you?" There's concern there, he knows now she's one of the Organization members and that means she's a bit more than a force to be reckoned with.
"If you want to take her down, you're going to need more than just that gun. The Organization members can take a lot before they go down and that gun isn't gonna do it."

Hal got to his feet again and laughed at the boy's worry. "No, not now. I don't have the facilities to hold her yet." He ejected the clip again, holding it out for the boy to see. "This? Is just a tranquilizer gun. Snake never let me have anything really deadly, just in case I accidentally shot myself." Which he had once, but Sora didn't need that story. "I'm not going to try to kill Larxene. That, as we've now established, is pretty pointless."
Reply
Hold her? That's not going to happen when she's capable of creating portals and what not. There's a look on his face that shows that Sora's not too sure of the whole hold her idea anyway, "Tranquilizers probably aren't going to do much either. They're pretty impervious to almost everything, except a keyblade. So what are you planning on doing?"
Reply
"I can get some more powerful things lined up now that I have some manual mobility again." He slammed the clip back into the gun and tucked it away into his coat. One hand lingered, wrapped around the grip. Never knew when a black coat would appear from the abyss.
"I'm not entirely sure yet. But Larxene is extremely dangerous, so something has to be done. I have a few ideas, but... Hm. I wonder if Roxas would let me take a blood sample and test it." Hal seemed to be more thinking out loud than anything now. "God knows this would all be for naught if Nobodies weren't VR compatible, but anyone with a brain should be..."
Reply
"Everyone in the Organization is extremely dangerous. Even Roxas can be I'm sure. Most of them should ignore you though. I'm sure Roxas'll help you out," but there's a pause what is Hal talking about?
"Uhh VR compatible? What's that?"
Reply
Hal smiled softly. "I can be fairly dangerous myself," he murmured. "I don't like to be, but... desperate times and all."
"Virtual Reality compatible." How to explain that one...? "With the right equipment, one can put someone's mind inside a computer program. In the program, the operator can control the surroundings and the abilities of the person inside the VR. It's usually used for weapon proficiency testing and training programs in my world."
