you managed to not only ruin your own point, but also show how ignorant you are and make a great case for all the fallacies in organized religion all at the same time...good job.

despite what you may have heard everybody from catholics to buddhists to atheists to satanists and jews (and everyone in between) has a right to worship and practice their religion in whatever way they want (outside of killing people)without judgment because their is no right or wrong way. it seems to me that all the different sects of christianity should spend a lot more time thinking about their true beliefs and less time judging others...a blanket statement like "atheist (i took the liberty of correcting your spelling) are so unaware all of the time" is not only uncalled for and rude it is also ignorant and judgmental in a way i'm sure your god would be displeased with.

"not all catholics are christians"? catholicism is a 2000 year old branch of christianity, hence christ is in their bible...if they want to pray to jesus's mom or pray through some guy in rome with a wacky hat, they are allowed to. just like you are allowed to pray in any way you want. just like i can believe in whatever i want to and reserve the right to not believe in anything if that's the way i want to go.

i have no actual deity i believe in or pray to yet i have my own morals and rules i live by...i have studied many different religions and i choose not to have one. so, i'm going to hell right? is that your judgment? if i remember the bible correctly only your god actually has the right to make that call. so you judging someone is actually you presuming to know the mind of god and i believe that that is a grievous sin.

i'm not trying to be a douche here or make any judgment calls because i know nothing about you outside of what i read...i find the statement to be ignorant i don't know anything about the the person who made it...just looking for a little enlightenment...as are we all.

Granted that yes, here in America, yes this great country that was founded in the beliefs of Christianity, we are allowed to worship anyone we please. This is a true statement for our country. But as someone who says they live by their own morals, you, also stated that we are free to worship any one we want because there is no, how did you say it, "there (I took the liberty of correcting you oversight of proper spelling) is no right or wrong way." This is a true statement for whoso ever believes that morals are not absolute, but yet you insist that it's okay so long as no one kills someone? Doesn't that contradict our moral freedom that you want to believe in because if morals were not absolute and that there is no right and wrong, then killing some one is not right or wrong and thus can be done freely. Point one.

Well, if it’s rude, then I’m glad I got you upset. At least I’ve shaken your sense of righteousness into some small bit of instability. But then again, rudeness is only rude when a wrong has been done to a right, but you shouldn’t care because there is no right and wrong. As for it being ignorant, I’ve done the study and have found atheism to be quite empty and lacking in the needs of not only spirituality but in common knowledge. So before we throw the word ignorant around, inform yourself in what other people may or may not know. Point two.

Side note about judging, is read John 7:24 NKJV “Do not judge according to appearance, but judge with righteous judgment” That’s straight out of J.C’s mouth. Again, make sure you are not ignorant when you make statements about other peoples beliefs. Point Three.

Catholicism is a 2000 year old branch of Christianity? Please! The beginning of the Roman Catholic Church was established in A.D. 590 with Gregory I, who consolidated the power of the bishopric in Rome. But we bible believing Christians need to know two key verses from the new testament when it comes to whom to pray to. KJV Jhn 14:6 Jesus saith unto him,”I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Not “and my moms, the pope, the saints, or by angels”. Second verse I’ll point out is that as far as “Catholics” should be concerned with is 1Tim 2:5 NKJV “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus.” Point four.

So should Catholics pray to statues of saints of old, to Mary, to angles, to the Pope? The bible says no. It not that I don’t like the Pope, I’m sure his intentions were well meant, but trust me when I say he missed the mark by a long shot. Again, Christians and Catholics should only pray to one person. You not being a Christian or Catholic shouldn’t care that much about this topic anyways because you don’t align yourself with any of the two. You should have stopped at correcting the misspelling of atheism. Point Five.

Lastly Catholics are a denomination of Christianity, and I do believe that you can be saved and be a Catholic, I’m not dogging all Catholics, in fact some of the coolest people I’ve ever met were very strong Christ loving Catholics. But what makes Catholicism different from its root source of Christianity is their “traditions” and “sacraments” that actually debase all that Christ did.

So maybe you should expand your reading materials before you step into this pool, don’t toe the water and try to tell us that you’re enlightened. Sure you might not know me, but we actually met last night at Electra Art.

america was not founded on christianity...read up on the masons, the hellfire club, andrew jackson as an atheist, and the templars...this country was founded on genocide, piracy and opium trade...my main argument was with the accusation that anyone can worship in an incorrect fashion...and the catholics do not pray directly to the pope, the virgin, or the saints, according to catholic doctrine man is not worthy of having a direct line to god so they go through these other people who are holier than they are...as far as the birth of the church goes, you can buy that the roman catholic church started the whole thing in 590 or you can dig deeper and find the original catholic sects (albeit they were called something different then) forming directly after the crucifixion and resurection...you cannot possibly give me any guff about contradicting myself...i mean, have you read the bible...as far as not caring about religions i find them amusing and interesting and the understanding of them very important especially in this age and current political climate...i wasn't commenting to piss you off or to be self righteous or pious in any form..."searching for enlightenment" and being enlightened are two different things...i'm still looking and i don't presume to have anything figured out...the idea was that you saying that someone worships "wrongly" came off so hostile that i felt someone should try to get you to expand on it because it really makes you come off like a moron......in a roundabout way i was helping you...i guess its all a matter of interpretation.

thank you for your response...
