San Francisco Trip

I finally made it to SF this weekend. And it was so incredibly awesome. I initially went to Union Square and walked around Macy's, Chanel, Gucci and other various boutiques. It was awesome and there was so much stuff, but I had a larger goal. At 11am I went to Angelic Pretty. And it was the most awesome thing ever. I went in and immediately I was asked if I needed any help. Naturally due to extreme excitement I explained the predicament of living in Australia and zero access to Lolita clothing. Immediately I got walked through the entire store and every item was shown to me. I honed in on a Chantilly JSK, Red with white trimmings. I know, Angelic Pretty had other brands and even some off-brand accessories. I tried the JSK on and fell in love. :D It was then that the other girl working in the store (wearing a fully AP coordinate) started jabbering away in Japanese about how nice it looked on me(it was translated for me by the other shop assistant). So I knew that if I could get that kind of reaction from her, this was the dress for me. I mean I know that shop people are required to gush about how good you look in something for making the sale, but it was so utterly sincere. Also, before I made it back into the dressing room a mother and daughter duo had come in and saw me exclaiming about how I looked like I had stepped out of a fairy tale. As any lolita will tell you, that is one of the ultimate compliments.

Then I walked around the store (after taking off the JSK) and chose two accessories. I chose a black head-eating bow with pearls on it, just so I could claim that I had one. It doesn't really suit my straight hair, but if I ever get around to getting a pre-styled wig (because I'm lazy), that will the headbow to wear. I also chose a small off-brand plastic bracelet ~ also black but black fits with pretty much my entire wardrobe. After all that, I paid the princessly sum of $340-something dollars. It was awesome. And then they signed me up with a loyalty card, and gave me the most adorable AP sticker. :)

Next I made the incredibly long treck to Japan Town to BtSSB in the NEW PEOPLE building. It was really awesome. I really can't believe that there were three girls working in such a microscopic store. But I guess with how much all the clothes cost and how much I spent, they can afford it :P I wandered around and chose two AatP dresses. One was pretty funky looking when I put it on. The fabric was kind of weird and didn't sit very well over my chest. The second one is love. When I came out with it on, I was encouraged to try on the accompanying headbow and a pair of gorgeous shoes. The whole outfit was so wonderful that I couldn't help myself. I also got a free usakumya hand puppet free, and its super super cute. Another bulky thing to bring back, but still soooo~ cute :) As I was waiting for them to wrap everything up for me (so neatly too!) a guy came in for some AatP and took the time to tell me how much he loved my cardigan. Heady from my experience I headed downstairs to buy some older issues of Gothic and Lolita Bible and a calendar for 2011.

After that, I trecked back to the train station and after some serious waiting around, finally made it back to where I was staying. I had such an awesome time in SF. Its now on my list of places to go and live when I finally move away from the aggressive heat back home.

:D
