head in the sun
Today I reached renewed statuses in more than one aspect of life.
1) I went to church at this church right down the street from my apartment, where it turns out a lot of people who work at my school also go to church. I've been there a few times... it's sort of traditional, sort of, and that feels really good. there's something about those old hymns and sitting in those straight rows of pews facing the front that I can only suppose helps connect my brain with memories of being young and comfy memories of church back home.
it was the youth-led service, which totally had me reminiscing in my head about all the youth group experiences of my past, the vast majority of them positive. i feel like today i rediscovered some of the energy that I'd forgotten about that young ones have and can share with those they are around. hopefully I'll let that happen in school, and hopefully I'm still that young one with energy in someone's eyes at least...
2) I heard a song by the Rentals on the radio today, which totally reminded me of Nate, so I've since then spent the day catching up on the good old days of awesome songs by the Rentals.
I really want to light it up right now with an electric guitar and a loud amp...... but it's 9:45 and I have neither in my possession. aww nuts.
