[ History ] :
Here you go
. Just a quick summary of who she is; in the world of Kingdom Hearts, creatures called Nobodies are formed when a person loses their heart. They're essentially the shell of the person left over from the event, and they have no hearts to feel with. Namine was formed when Sora discovered he had Kairi's heart within him, and unlocked his heart and her's to revive her. In this way, Namine came into being, and she is considered Kairi's Nobody. She was discovered in Castle Oblivion and used by Organization XIII for the purpose of leading Sora to their side. However, through the help of Axel, she was able to escape and stand up for Sora, leading him to victory over the scheming members of the Organization. Since she tampered with Sora's memories too much, she made him stay in stasis for a year in order to rearrange his memories back to the way they were. Around that time, she discovered the existence of Roxas, Sora's Nobody, and tried to make contact with him when DiZ trapped him in a fake version of Twilight Town.
[ Personality ] :
Namine is the type of girl who could be best described as a wallflower. She's enormously shy and very soft-spoken, hardly ever using her voice too loudly. She treats others kindly, but can be very submissive, even when someone forces her to do something she doesn't want to do. That being said, she does have her determined moments, as when she stood up to Larxene when the Organization member began beating up Sora
.
Being a Nobody, she doesn't have a heart, yet her existence is so special that at times she does display true emotion. But most of the time, she is quietly content to sit alone in her room, drawing her heart out. She does cherish her relationships with other people, especially Riku, but does not appreciate it when anybody she knows is threatened. When KH2 begins, she actually believes she has the right to protect Roxas and tell him the truth about his existence, even if it means her erasure by an angry DiZ.
Overall, she's a nice girl, and wouldn't hurt a fly.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Strengths:
Namine has control over the power of memories. She can go in someone's mind and mess with their memories, even creating new ones. This power is so strong that she can actually "break a person's heart", as when she stopped the Repliku from hurting Sora by rupturing the connections between his memories. Like the other Nobodies, Namine can also summon dark portals to go from place to place- but it's not going to be in use at Vatheon, and besides, she doesn't have much control over it, anyways. Other things she can do with memories are change the appearance of things to looke like objects that are special to Sora or his friends.
Namine can also be very determined if she wants to. You hurt her friends? Well, she's going to step in and make things right. Even though she's not the most powerful or courageous girl on the planet, she does have a good sense of loyalty and kindness towards the people she wants to protect.
Weaknesses:
With her powers, there's a catch. Namine can't just go into anyone's mind and tinker with their memories: since she is a Nobody born from Sora's sacrifice in KH1, she only has power over Sora and the people connected to him. So, she can't exactly use her power over any random stranger in the street. There's a very fine limit to it.
Namine is not very powerful, in Nobody terms. While the other Nobodies can summon weapons and perform magic, Namine can't do any of that. The only thing that is closest to a weapon that she has is her sketchbook, and that is not exactly something you can use in battle. If someone uses force against her, the only thing she can really do is run away or let someone else handle it.
[ Other Important Facts ] :
- Drawing is a really important hobby to Namine, and she's actually very decent at doing it. She will draw anything that is associated with Sora, or things that either play a huge role in her life or she particularly admires. DiZ actually believes that her drawings actually aids her power, as he believes she draws out the memories from Sora to manipulate them at will.
[ Sample ] :
“Why is everything white here? Why are all the walls painted white?”
She asked the questions out loud, expecting no answer. Of course her “caretaker” wouldn’t answer that. Just like all the other questions she posed; they would remain unanswered and useless, like wasted words launched at a stolid brick wall. But one-sided conversations were much better than suffocating silence.
“Because.”
But this time, it went through, and she had to hide her surprise behind the white sketchbook she held in front of her face.
“What do you mean, because?”
He shrugged, a distant look on his face. “Just…because.” She returned to her drawing, disappointed. He probably didn’t even care; he just wanted to say something to break the silence, no doubt.
She scratched the black crayon on her canvas, seeing silvers of wax curl around it, like tiny shadows. Having finished it, she held it up for him to see.
“What do you think?” He looked over, raising his thin eyebrows slightly. But, without a word, he turned his head back to its original position, his eyes focused on nothing in particular.
Frowning slightly, she looked over her drawing of a hooded Organization member, a stark black against the creamy white paper. Suddenly, a flash of understanding came to her.
“I know why the walls are white, Axel!”
“Why?” He replied, glancing over at her.
“Because, no matter what, black always stands out against white. It can be easily seen and distinguished. It can make things appear that shouldn’t appear.” He suddenly started to look interested, but then a frown crossed his face.
“And what about white against white, then?” He nodded his head over towards her white dress, and she fingered the hemmed edges of it involuntarily. She looked around at the white chair, the white walls, even the white flowers which stood in the white vase that cast a white shadow. She felt a lump form in her throat.
“It…fades away…”
