And on, and on, and on...

Then I wake up one morning cold, a draft seeping in under the door, and know immediately that the weather couldn't be any better. I layer a t-shirt with a long sleeve polo and a jacket before I ever leave the room. The priority is coffee, so I head to the store on the corner and delay the day's schoolwork for a few minutes.

The sun breaks through the leaves of oak trees and litters the ground. The breeze is soft. Birds and squirrels brings smiles, and I can't help but feel like a Disney cliche. Doesn't matter. The walk is too simple a joy to mar with cynical thoughts. Things seem better. I'm going on. Enjoying life is just so simple on days like this. Definitely on days like this.

The night is different. The cool breeze will turn to a cold one. Street lights will blanket my face rather than the warm rays of the sun, and I'll feel less excited about what lies ahead.
