Merry Christmas! Or happy Thursday!

To all my Christian and/or Christmas-celebrating friends, Christmas is finally (or already?) here! Whether you spend the day celebrating the birth of Jesus in church or simply spend it quietly with family, I hope it's a beautiful and wonderful day for you.

As the years go by, I've come to realize that Christmas is no longer about who gets the best presents or who's stocking is stuffed the most. That time will come again in the future, but for my children moreso than for me. Now, Christmas is about giving the best gift, who I got to see on this wonderful day, or who's amazing appetizer or dessert I stuffed my face with more what? But getting gifts is always fun, don't get me wrong :) I think I've made out quite well this year, considering my pile gets smaller as the years progress.
  • $400 gift card to Coach (which I DIDN'T see coming...?) from husband.
  • $200 from my parents, which I'm debating on how to spend. Clothes, or matching wallet to a purse I wasn't planning on buying? (ETA: I bought $60 worth of yarn from purlsoho.com, heh.)
  • Starbucks Bear from Singapore, too cute! Thanks, brother.
  • Last-minute gifts: 13 piece natural bamboo crochet hook set (had my eyes peeled for one for months, and one set appeared just in time by a seller on Etsy!) and an amazing skein of yarn that can only be described with an image. Brother ordered me these tonight from Etsy as (proclaimed by me) late Christmas/early Birthday gifts.
  • Payed LJ from a friend <3
Speaking of birthday. I'll be 24 in a month. ONE MONTH left in my 23rd year of life, good God. Where does the time go??! At least I don't feel old, or look old. I can remember a time when 18 year olds looked elderly and I couldn't even imagine what life would be like at 24. I probably thought I'd be married (which I am) and babied (AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!) at this point. I can't freaking believe... luckily for me, I already have plans to party it up like a princess with friends and husband :) complete with a tiara. It's going to rule. Call it a preview to my quarter-life birthday of 2010 :) awsome year, all around.
