(no subject)
Just an update to say that I'm not dead. I've been busy with uni and haven't made any icons in a while. I have a batch waiting to be uploaded, but I was hoping to make some more before I do. In the meantime, here's some of the drawings I made in '07.
I like the what I claim to be rose petals in the background. I like to think that I've improved a lot the last few days, for reasons unknown. Suddenly the sketch under looked like it could become something, and then the colouring just clicked.
The nakedness! I am planning to draw a dress one day, if I can bother (and have enough skill). It's the first time I'm happy about the eyes, but I finally figured out how to make them come alive.
emeani suggested that should draw a person in a dark room with a lamp and this is how it turned out! There's no visible proof of any floor or walls, it might be a magical room. The cord is behind the lamp, I swear (or it might be magical too). I'm happy the shadows worked out like they did, they looked really weird for a while.
