Oh LOST, awe-some! Dude, I still haven't watched the season finale for that show. I have it recorded, but with all the essays and homework from my english summer class, I haven't had the time. Really need to watch that.

Your banners kick! So much good work. How'd you learn how to play around with graphics like that? Teach yourself?

I haven't watched any of Season 2! I was too busy with school not to mention I didn't think about tivo-ing it which was retarded of me. GZUH.

Thanks! Yeah, I just taught myself. It took a while though. BWAHA you should see my old icons. wow. they make crap look good.

Ha, that was yours truely with season 1. I was interested in the show and my dad already was watching it every week, but I didn't want to just come in in the middle of the show. So I waited for the season 1 dvds to come out and based on everyone's raving and praise, purchased them. Needless to say I turned into another raving, weekly tuning-in fan, snagging LOST icons left and right and writing about the show in my journal. Yep, nerd (points to self). Ah well.

I'm curious to see what you'll think of the new season. Gonna get the dvds then?

HAHA, they made crap look good, huh? Seems hard to believe. Dude, I used to make icons. Well, really I made icons only a few times. I think if I'd have stuck with it I would have gotten a little better, but alas, I did not and now I lamely miss making them, but am worse than I was before. I do remember spending hours in front of the computer working on icons though. Trying to get them just how I want them, or just fooling around to see what happens.

What program do you use for your icons?

LOL. You're too funny. XD

I really want to! But, they're so expensive and I wanted to buy VM season 1 because everyone here and in rl are all OMGIZDED about it. so yeah. I figure I'll give it a shot!

Yeah, it's not even an exageration. If I find one I'll show you and trust me YOU WILL be amused.

Well, I've got this knack where I can imitate things OKISH. Because like, I'm terrible at just.. freehand sketches, but if I have something to copy it's not total crap. ANND with icons I just sort of figure out coloring on my own and.. ehh. -shrug- sometimes it works out for the best!

I have Adobe Photoshop CS & CS2 :) Yeah. It's an exciting program!

Yeah, I've never seen an ep. of VM, but everyone and their dog's mama seems to love that show in an I-can't-get-enough, i'm-gonna-shamlessly-write-about-it-in-my-journal, and create-headers-icons-avatarts-and-any-other-kind-of-graphics-i-can-think-of-for-the-show-and-flood-lj-with-them-woooooo! kind of way. Which hey, all the more power to them. If you love a show, why not show it? But it does leave me puzzling over what this greatness is that everyone, well... writes about, posts icons for, creates graphics for and what have you. Another gamble I myself am considering taking. Buying the first season I mean. Really, in retrospect, how can a show with that large of a passionate fan base be bad?

The only problem is I have about six other tv show seasons of various other shows that I want to buy. And I'm not even a big tv person. I lamely look at shows I used to watch when I was younger, like Boy Meets World, and go "oooh!" [this is me standing in wal-mart or borders with tv show season in hands, staring. That is it.]

LOL. Oh man.

YES!! There are SO many shows that I want to start watching! Grey's Anatomy (my friends are all obsessed with that one too) and Prison Break.. and just GUH! OMG Boy Meet's World! I haven't seen an episode of that show in AGES. Aw. I miss it.

Borders is honestly my favorite store. I can't get enough of it! So much booky-music-movie-coffe-GOODNESS. GUH. SO YUMMY. Alot of times I just buy books on impulse. If it looks good I just grab it. They always turn out really good though! Like My Sister's Keeper. OMG. amazing. ♥

YO and carrying books around the store -even if you don't buy them- is not lame. I'm QUITE guilty of it myself.

Whoa. Photoshop > PSP. I don't care WHO argues with me. I think it's true though. XP

GOOO! Just expiriment the heck out of that program! HEY if you have AIM you can IM me and show me what you make ^^ IM iconing has always been fun. I posted my screename in one of my recent entries I DO believe. XP

[nods] Boy Meets World kicks. Yeah, walking along the never-ending row of tv shows on dvd in DVD Planet all I could think was, when did they make so much good tv???

Yeah... the impulse-buys are the best. No white noise or expectations. Just surprises. The fantastic thing about books, is you don't have to ever worry about finishing the last one.

[you enter Borders to find empty shelf after non-dusted empty shelf]
you: [to employee] Excuse me, where are all your books?
employee with mohawk and british accent.... because didn't you know? all borders employees have mohawks and british accents: You read them all. We don't have anymore for you.

Yeah. That [points to dialogue above], would be disastrous. A bibliophile masochists favourite nightmare. I honestly don't know what I personally would do. Maybe go into denial. Lose my mind. Then ironically, I'm sure, the news would cover me and the fact that there were no more books would be no big predicament, but me losing my mind in that borders would have people's jaw dropping.

Man, if I won the lottery the first thing I would do is BUY the nearest Borders. Then, slowly, I'd get to Barnes & Nobles too ( ... )

Oh, Stephen King's It. At first, for some reason my view was obstructed, I thought you meant A Child Called It. Good book. Sad. As is its sequel. Anyway, you're going to stock up on books for the summer? Perhaps you should be the one taking in a shopping cart. [grins]

Man, I've been rather slacksome with my books of late, simply because of the school load I've been tending to. I finished a play last night and 'ave another to read before the weekend's out.

Lets see. I recently read, Myla Goldberg's Bee Season. Good book about a family coming apart and the youngest sibling it is discovered has skill at spelling and is in bees. I believe they not too long ago released a movie (hate to say it, but it was a little sluggish) with Richard Gere and Juliette Binoche which was alright. The author's use of vocabulary is fantastic.

There's also The Confessions of Max Tivoli. Interesting tale about a guy who is born looking old, but as he ages, grows younger looking. As he ages his body grows younger. Interesting tale. Really interesting ( ... )

WHOA! SWEET. I've been keeping a list together. It's going to end up being one long list.

Thanks so much for all the suggestions!

AHH. The Outsiders was an amazing book. I hope to reread it someday.

Artemis Fowl! Aww, I read the first one a few years ago, but I hardly remember it. I never got around to reading the other sequels or whatever's out there.

I've heard of "Great Expectations", I don't know anything about it though. :)

"Generation X" sounds really interesting! That one defintely sounds worth checking out.

And for sure I'll check out that community. thanks again for all these suggestions! Man, I'm going to have alot to choose from. :P
