Back from Detroit

So, the visit to my dad's went really well. First of all, I found out I got admitted to Walsh College for my MST within 3 hrs of arriving. I hung out at his office. He lets his associates have a basketball hoop and a golf net for practicing shots in the lobby with the flatscreen TV he got. Then I got to visit his Troy house for the first time. It's very comfortable. He's furnished it largely from furniture from Thomasville, NC (his lake house is 100% furnished from there).

The party was interesting. The service and beverages were awesome! The company was mixed and diverse. My dad's assistant is hilarious! I got her email so that we can communicate. His youngest associates are way fun and I spent the majority of my time talking to them. One of them I wished was a lesbian because she was captivating in every possible way! Hah! His friends from Merrill Lynch (a few floors below him) were the next most fun to talk to. One even offered me a potential job! I emailed her to talk about it and am awaiting her call.

The next day I saw the school I got into, drove around the suburbs (they are nice!), and then took a long nap. We went to downtown Detroit and visited GreekTown. We tried to go to Pegasus, but there was an hour wait so we went to a nicer restaurant called Mosaic. Then my dad (this is surprising!) gave Sheila and I money and took us to the casinos. We both lost most of our money, but he got to smoke his cigar and watch. Didn't get home until after midnight.

I discussed a deal with my dad for graduate school that seems to be a fair trade. We also discussed his estate and what he's doing with it.

Now I'm back in Denver. Last night I saw the L Word at the coffee shop I'm at now. I got woken up in the middle of the night for a false fire alarm. Now there's a foot of snow on the ground that wasn't there before. Got to work out and tan...

I will work essentially non-stop starting tomorrow until I leave for Orlando. Yowza!
