Once upon a time, there was a little girl who lived in a little town surrounded by her big family. She loved sports and singing and reading and people and was a very happy child indeed.
Along the way, life happened to the little girl, and she grew up. She kissed her first boy, smoked her first cigarette, lost her first loved one, drank her first beer, and it all happened in that order.
She went to college far away from home where she met amazing people and heard amazing ideas. She fell in love and out of it. Had her heart broken and broke some hearts. She even went a little crazy (even though the doctors said she wasn't). Finally, it was time to move on again.
Now a young woman, she moved South to be with her pregnant sister. She fell in love again, this time it was with a city. This city contained family, music, food, culture, people, and the life of which a fun-chaser dreams. She met a boy, got a job, an apartment of her own, and settled in to see what life had planned.
Little did she know that it was all about to change.
In came a whirling, twirling, raging storm. The young woman fled the city she loved, leaving the life she loved, never to return. Tears of fear smeared her face. What would she do? Where would she go? What would become of our little girl?
But have heart, my friends. This story is not a tragedy.
Although the young woman was forced to leave that life behind after one short year, she was still a very happy lady indeed. The tragedy that occurred in her life was not able to turn her life into a tragedy. In fact, just the opposite occurred.
She moved home to be surrounded by her big family. Our young woman healed and lived and lived some more. Now she is grateful for catalysts of change, although she does perfer to take them in forms other than hurricanes.
