I also loved how this fic actually revealed a rather self-absorbed side to Roxanne's personality. It's NOT her fault that she was made an object of obsession by Hal, but it IS interesting that it took something so extreme and major for her to notice how scarily focused Hal has been on her for so long. It's actually pretty friggen scary discovering that Hal's obsession for Roxanne ran so deep for so long, and yet.. SHE NEVER NOTICED?!?
To be fair, I can see why she wouldn't *want* to notice something like that. After all, who would want to admit to themselves that a fellow co-worker *doesn't* simply have a silly, cute (perhaps slightly creepy?) little crush on you. You'd go into a state of denial and keep telling yourself that it's only a little crush, and that it will GO AWAY, as long as you ignore it.
Only problem is that ignoring the problem led to THIS situation. Damn, Roxanne was screwed, eh?
I did love how Hal had a small moment of grief and guilt when he saw the damage he was inflicting on Roxanne's courage. He had to fly away when he saw how close he was to breaking her, and only returned once she had regained her composure, and gone back to being angry again. Now THAT is the most amazing, interesting and insightful psychological portrait I've ever read about Hal. I'm seriously awestruck!
Please write some more Megamind fics!!!!

Your comment on Roxanne is dead-on; I'm sure she's been in total denial of this for a long, long time. His reactions in the film are too intense for it to have been only a passing crush, but I think she chose to ignore the situation in the hopes that it would resolve itself. Sometimes it does. Sometimes it festers.
I find Hal to be incredibly sympathetic, and I'm always thrilled to hear that I've managed to convey that in my writing. I'm especially pleased that you liked that little jaunt into space; I think even Hal is afraid of what he's capable of, the depths he'll sink to when he loses himself in his temper.
I go where the plot bunnies take me! If another Megamind one bites, rest assured that I'll share it with all my dirty little freaks at the comm. <3
Thanks very much, I'm so happy you enjoyed it!
