Thanks so much for your comments. I'm especially thrilled by the second one and your observation about Megamind--- YES, EXACTLY, this COULD work if they can just get over those insecurities. I really wanted to explore this relationship on a deeper level. I mean, I love writing porn as much as the next person, but I was much more interested in working out the emotional intricacies in a hero/villain pairing. Especially since Metro Man has an identity crisis in canon--- he's a very complex character, and I like how this relationship is drawing that anxiety out into the open.
Meanwhile, Megamind is a character who does not look at the big picture. He does not consider the long-term effects of his choices (destroying Metro Man/consumed with regret, creating Tighten/nearly killed when he cannot control him), so I do think he would throw himself into something like this without really considering the effect it might have on their "professional" relationship. I think he genuinely believes, at this point, that they can have it both ways. Broadcasting the conquest would ruin not only their romantic relationship, but their professional one as well, and we've seen time and time again that Megamind wants to have his cake AND eat it, too. We're going to have to wait and see where that gets him in this situation...
Annnnnnd I've written a miniature character essay in response to your comment, haha. I just really love digging into these characters. Astonishing depth for a "children's" movie. I can't get enough!!
