Brisco County
Finishing up my run of watching all of Brisco County. (Yay DVDs!) There have been a number of surprises along the way, stuff I forgot, didn't recognize at the time, or just never saw in the first place. For instance, the last episode has Terry Bradshaw as an Army colonel, leading an elite team (clearly inspired by the super-posse from Butch Cassidy) entirely acted by professional football players. There is a corresponding huge batch of football jokes. I can only assume this had something to do with Fox getting the NFL deal signed -- their first broadcast games would have come about four months after the episode first aired.
