This was a long, bitter rant, but I decided to simplify for the sake of space.
I agree with Neil Armstrong and Jim Lovell: President Obama's space plan is tremendously stupid.
Maybe next he'll tell NOAA they can't fly planes into or around storms anymore. There's a lot of money and risk of human lives going into those programs, too, and what are we getting from them that we couldn't pawn off to a nebulous and non-existent private industry? Weather patterns, shmeather patterns. Let's just sit on the ground and guess at how things work!
