Nostalgic LOTR post ;-)
Well I was asked by some friends to show them my pics I took in 2003 in Berlin of the Lord of the Rings cast.
I spend 5 days in Berlin to meet the cast and was very successful. They were in Berlin for the World premiere of Return of the King.
So if you are interested to read a little report and see my pics,

urukat and I started our trip on Saturday. 600 kilometers and lots of traffic jams later, we arrived in Berlin. We stayed at the Youth Hostel.
On Sunday we got up early to go to the airport. We had no idea when the cast would arrive, so we planned to stay at the airport all day ;-)

I have a funny little story to tell. You know who was on the same flight? Jessica Alba. There were some autograph collectors who sell autographs on Ebay. Of course she recognized her. I didn't. And when she stood in front of me, looking at me as if she was waiting for me to hand her something to sign, I realized Billy Boyd behind her and so I pushed her away *lol*. I swear I didn't know who she was and even IF I knew it, i would still have done the same :-)
While waiting for the cast, we made friends with a lovely woman who worked at the airport. She had a total crush on Viggo and was even able to get a pic with him. She then asked him when they would leave again. I have to admit she was really cute and I'm sure Viggo agreed with that. So he told her the time they would leave in 5 days and he also told her that some more actors would arrive in 2 hours. So she told us :-))
So two hours later we also met...

I was really disappointed because Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghan didn't arrive with the others. Someone told me that Elijah was at the hotel already but would leave the next morning because of work :-(
So we went to their hotel (I can't remember how we found out where they stayed).
There were already LOTS of people. After about 30 minutes the cast stepped out of the hotel because they were leaving for lunch. Viggo was the only who took some time for his fans. We asked him about Dom and he said he had no idea :-(
The next day was Dominic's Birthday and Kat and I had bought him a present. So we asked Viggo if he would hand Dominic the present next time he would meet him. He said yes so we gave him the gift.
We also saw Elijah. he stepped out of the hotel and we shouted his name. He waved and was on his way over to us when his publicist pushed him to the car. He said sorry and waved again. *sigh* That was the only time I saw Elijah there :-/

The next morning we went to the hotel at about 8 am. we hoped we'd see Elijah again before he left but the porter told us that he had left very early :-(
The porter was really cute by the way and we had a lot of fun with him during the next days.
A few other fans arrived and it was a lot of fun though non of the actors showed up. At about noon Billy Boyd went out for lunch and spent a few minutes with the fans:
About an hour later a car stopped in front of the hotel and Dom arrived *squeee*. We sang him "Happy Birthday" and he seemed to enjoy it. He gave autographs and took pics with the fans. Kat and I told him that we gave a present for him to Viggo and he was like "Oh really? Cool. I will go and get it."
When I took my pic with Dom, he tried to make it himself, though I told him it wouldn't work. But he tried and tried for about 1 minute until it flashed. I was happy to stand so close to him for that long but I knew the photo would be blurry.

But he said that we better should take another picture. God, I love that man. One of the security guys took this one:
Nothing happened until the evening but we had lots of fun with the security guys. They were all really nice, at least to us. But we had proofed that we were fangirls but weren't hysterical when the actors showed up. When they didn't want to give autographs, we accepted it. but others freaked out, screamed as soon as one of the cast members stepped out of the hotel. So I guess that was the reason, the guys were really kind.
In the evening the whole cast went out to celebrate Dom's Birthday. Some of them used another exit but most of the cast took their time for the now really huge group of fans:
Liv was really cute. When she stood in front of us, she asked if we knew that it was Dom's Birthday today. So we told her that we already sang "Happy Birthday" when he had arrived. She beamed and was like "Awww you are so cute" :-)
Oh by the way, we did something really embarrassing. You know, we were all cold and hungry so some of us had the idea to order pizza. So one of the girls called her sister for a phone number of a pizza service and so about 15 girls who stood all in front of the hotel, ordered pizza. We told the guy to come to the hotel. He would recognize us.
The security guys thought it was a joke. But then the service called and said that there were SO MANY girls. He couldn't see us. So we told him to just come to the entrance, we would wave then. And so we did. So we were standing there right in front of the hotel, behind a barrier and got yummy pizza, wine, beer and softdrinks and about 100 other fans watched us.
You can't even imagine how many who I met even years later tell me 2Hey wasn't you one of the girls who ordered pizza in front of the hotel?" OMG so embarrassing *g*

The next morning the whole group of fans, we had met the day before, was back again:
The porter and security guys were friendly again and wished us a good morning. But they also told us that nothing would happen until later that afternoon. But we stayed because we didn't want to give up our awesome places.
Did I mention that the premiere was in December and that it was DAMN cold? Well the hotel manager was the cutest guy ever. He told his staff to bring us hot tea because we were really nice girls and he didn't want to see us freeze. Awwww.... we got tea several times that day.
In the afternoon Sean Astin's wife Christine left the hotel with her kids. When she came back I said "Would you please say hi to Sean from us?" She smiled and about 10 minutes later she came back out...followed by Sean :-)
In the evening a car stopped in front of the hotel and out stepped KARL URBAN!!! OMG he was shooting in Berlin. We didn't know that. But he rushed inside before most of the fans even realized it was him:
Nothing happened for the next hour and the security guy told us that most of the cast had left through another exit. Later we heard that they all went to a club next to the hotel :-) Kat and I were about to leave when the boss of the security guys told us we should better wait a few more minutes because we would get some more hot tea and winked at us. So we stayed about 20 more minutes and then we knew why we should stay. Viggo and Karl stepped out of the hotel. there were only about 30 fans left so they took LOTS of time for the fans. That was awesome. they were both joking around and so funny :-)

The next day was the premiere. We had heard that most fans planned to show up very early. So did we. We met with the others at 8 am. We brought blankets, hot tea, wine and everything and made ourself comfortable for the next few hours ;-)
I can't even remember when the first actors showed up but believe me, it was a LONG day. But it was worth it:
Even Craig Parker showed up :-)

When Dom stood in front of us, we asked him, if he got our present from Viggo. He asked if it was the teddy or the sweets. So we said that it was the scarf (we knew he loved scarfs). So he was suddenly totally excited and was like "OMG the green and black scarf? That was from you? I love it." and he hugged and kissed us *squeee*
You can imagine I was like in seventh heaven. I even forgot to ask him for an autograph. I was lucky that his publicist realized that I was in kind of a trance and pushed him back to me to sign my pic *lol*.
By the way, a few weeks later we found a pic on the net were he wore our scarf *happy dances*:
Finally we got to meet Peter Jackson. He is such a lovely guy. He thanked us for being there :-)

The next morning we packed our stuff and went to the airport again. Thanks to the lovely woman at the airport, we knew the exact time, the guys were leaving. There were only very few fans and the kind security guys again :-)

After that we went back home to Cologne. Totally exhausted but happy :-)
