Thank you, dear festividder, for stopping by. I'm all excited and squeeful and hope you have fun making whatever you make!
I have a wide-range of musical likes. I generally love happy, feel-good things, crack and all sorts of nonsense. I also like action and explosions and space battles and triumphing over evil.
In case you're searching for ideas, I've rambled on about the shows/movies I selected below. I only include music suggestions in case you're looking for ideas/direction, I often adore vids to songs/genres I'm unfamiliar with so I'm very open to any style you're looking to vid and you are more that free to ignore the musical style I've listed.
YAY FESTIVIDS!!!!!! ♥
Details below match what I entered in my sign up.
Alcatraz
I love the partnership between Rebecca & Diego, I'm also intrigued by Lucy/Emerson and their past. This show was entirely too short lived and I hate that it ended on a cliffhanger. Some of the footage from the 1960's era is visually interesting (I have no idea what to do with that though). There were some cool car chases - Rebecca has a sweet car - and general fun stuff where they chase bad guys and wave guns around.
Longmire
Such a good show! It's hard for me to ask for something because it's so well written and I don't find myself needing anything that I don't find in canon (good story telling, beautiful scenery, etc). Except more Longmire, of course. :( I like Vic and Walt and the entire sheriff's department, but I'd love to see more Cady or Branch (I like Cady/Branch) or anything about Henry.
Space: Above and Beyond
I have such a soft spot for this show, still. I really liked Shane Vansen/Cooper Hawkes, but would also welcome a team vid (the team dynamic really hit that "found-family" button for me) or any sort of character study. I like all the wild cards.
Dr. Strangelove
I re-watched this movie recently and suddenly wanted something. Not sure what, but something wild, like dance music or techno. It's already a cracktastic movie, so capitalizing on that would be awesome. Although if you want to make a serious vid out of a parody, that would be amazing, too.
Pump up the Volume
My two top songs for vidding this movie would be Video killed the radio star by The Buggles or Do you remember rock 'n roll radio? by the Ramones. Cliche? Sure. I also know this movie has a lot of teenage angst and I'm not averse to something that takes that on.
Tin Men
My favorite thing about this movie is the setting (Baltimore) and the cars. I love all the scenery. I don't often agree with Roger Ebert, but
his review had me nodding my head in several places. Particularly the part about dented fenders being phallic symbols for middle aged men who don't like themselves very much (I'm paraphrasing)
Trouble with the Curve
I think I'm not a fan of baseball movies, but there are some pretty darn good baseball movies out there. League of Their Own, Field of Dreams, Bull Durham. Here's another one. It has a similar feel good vibe. The father daughter relationship warms my heart - I didn't know I could still like Clint Eastwood (ugh... politics), he must be THAT good of an actor.
