Last night I went to the "Statelines & Truckstops" tour, featuring Panic! At The Disco. It was here in San Antonio at the White Rabbit Club.
I didn't get to buy my tickets because unfortunately, they sold out. However, I went because the guy I had talked to said that they would start letting other people in as well. I had no idea so many were going to be just like me, waiting without tickets. I swear, my line was around the building, just as bad as the ticket holders line.
Unlike the MCR concert, I got there around five-ish. I had to park waaaaay down the block and pray Bettie didn't get jacked. It was a crummy neighborhood. I was all by myself (thanks guys) so half the time I was wondering when a big mexican guy was going to pop out and try to rape me. While I was in line, I felt like such a loser. I started making small talk with the girls behind me, but I ended up making friends with the two guys in front of me, Ricky & Aidrenne (did I spell that right?). They were from a small town not far away. Aidrenne even asked me to go out to eat with them afterwards.
I'm still in line by the time the show starts. It's a band called Acceptance. The only people I was here to see was Panic!, so I didn't care I was missing them. Word went back through the line that the admission was $20. Damn. I was so glad I brought a twenty with me. It was the only cash I had. We were all the way around the building and just outside the gates when Panic! started. If I stood up on my toes, I could see them. Brandon (the lead singer) looked hot. We stood outside, yelling along and whatnot, begging the security to let us in. They began leaking people in about two at a time. Ricky got to go first. Aidrenne and I waited.
Finally, the girl passed us through. I slapped my twenty on the counter and pushed my way into the crowd. I was nowhere near the stage and honestly, I could barely see anything. This was somewhat of an older crowd than the oneI had dealt with at the My Chem concert, so I was kind of hesitant to start pushing people around. Plus, it's a bar. Half of them had beer bottles in their hands.
Sadly, they only played a few more songs by the time all three of us got in. I was kind of peeved. Panic! said good night and more than half of the crowd left. Hell, I wanted to leave. I ended up staying though and seeing the band after them, The Academy Is... They were good, and I liked them, but I was just too tired and dissapointed to enjoy it much. My feet were killing me from hours of standing and I was so fucking hungry because I had skipped eating earlier. I never can seem to eat before shows.
We left a little early. I gave them my myspace adress and parted ways because they decided to head back home. I scurried all the way back to Bettie. She was still there! Only she had a parking ticket on her windsheild. Fuck. I was parked within 15 ft. of a fire hydrant. Like I even saw it there. I gotta pay $40 dollars now. This is like spending $60 on a show that was not worth it. Sigh.
In other news, I talked to my Mom Thursday night and I really felt better. She said I need to get back in touch with my artistic side. I never knew she felt like that.
