Dog show weekend
Our collie specialty shows were fun, even though we didn't have anyone entered. Kia did a great job handling Danny. And then yesterday we spent the day in NY at Westminster. It was a very long day, and quite an interesting experience. And I hope I never have to do it again! :) Westminster is just another dog show, all though it is one of the top dog shows in the world. But it is just too crowded, too many rules, too hot and too long a day for the dogs.
But it's great for all the "who's who" in the dog show world to see Kia competing there.

New York city ahead!
My sister drove us. But after searching for a parking garage that wasn't full, and dealing with city traffic, she got so aggravated she dropped us off and went home.

While we waited, we watched the smooth collie judging in ring 3. My friend Diane managed to get us seats on the floor, right next to the ring!
This was the first group of junior handlers who qualified to compete at Westminster. Kia is in the hot pink suit. She is in the center of the picture with Holly.
This is the Empire State building, we walked by it on our trek to the train station.
I think this is the Chrysler building. (Still walking to Grand Central, and it was getting dark and chilly!)
Finally made it to the train...Kia and Holly were relieved to be sitting down after being on our feet all day!
