Note: This is a direct continuation from where we left off the last time (yes, I still suck at choosing where to cut my chapters, bleah :P), so please review
the ending for Chapter 52! :D
November 8th - Grythen
Kismette
"Kismette!"
Kismette awoke with a shock. “Zaelem!”
“Zaelem?”
She looked around, disorientated. She was certain she heard him calling her name.
No, she did not hear it. She felt it. It was not merely a sound but an intense feeling that he was calling her. She could not put her finger on why she was so sure it was not just a dream.
Shaking with unease, she hurried to her window and slid a window pane open, drawing her breath in sharply as the chilly night air rushed in. Her eyes scanned the deep indigo sky, a futile search for their target. Where was that familiar shade of blue she had always sought comfort from?
A surge of panic rose in her throat. She reached for her mobile phone and dialled for Jeremy straight away.

She opened the door to Jeremy’s library without knocking. “Jeremy!” She panted for a while, catching her breath.
The only person there was Deinja. Her spirits plummeted.
Deinja raised an eyebrow at her. “I was about to call Master Viken when he called me instead, saying that there was something urgent. I suppose you called him before I did, Mistress Larazest?”
Kismette could not tell if the heat on her cheeks were from running or from her embarrassment. “Master Highbridge, I… I’m not sure how to put this across. I think-no, I’m sure I heard Zaelem calling me, but it wasn’t exactly a sound. I don’t really know what it was.”
Deinja scratched his arched eyebrow, looking a little amused. “The exact same thing I wanted to tell Master Viken, Mistress Larazest,” he began, baffling her with an unusual sparkle of excitement in his eyes. “I have observed a very strange sight in the sky.”
Kismette restrained herself from frowning. She nodded, anxious. “Please get to the point.” Master Highbridge was notorious for being longwinded.
“Well, the two of you-your stars, I mean,” he added hastily, “collided.”
Ning: You have no idea how nervous I am to post this interlude. I feel like I have just revealed my trump card.
