Wow, thank you so much! Stop it, you're making me blush ♥

I have a thing about details; less is more. I don't like long winded descriptions where you have a paragraph describing the setting and story and what is going on at this exact moment. I like delving in to how they feel and what they've been through and how they think; forget about what colour dress she's wearing or how his hair looks. People have more fun making that up themselves. I just want everyone to know exactly what is going through their minds. I think understanding characters and their situations is more important than everything else on the outside.

So, that's the basic story of why I write details the way I do - simple. Sometimes I describe what's going on around them to set the mood, but that's about it, and I'm glad people enjoy my style :)

And that line you love that sums it all up - will forever be the one thing Bones has done wrong. Booth loves Brennan, and she knows, and it didn't change a thing. And the fact is, it should have.

Hahaha maybe even sooner - there was two short ones I did about a week ago, for a fic meme, but it was friends-only. I'll put them together eventually in one entry for people to read :)

I was clearing my inbox and came across your reply.

LOL, I had just written a fic specifying what color Brennan's dress was :) I actually did it to tie two parts together, normally I concentrate on emotions and thoughts too.

I agree with that less is more when it comes to details, it's one of the things I like to explore when writing; how much you can leave out. My re-writing process, if I make any changes after the first draft, is virtually cutting text. I did and LJ entry on it, but I can't remember if it's f-locked or not. I once had a reviewer on ff.net complain that there were too few details, but I suspect it was a case of a lazy reader, I don't cater to those ;) Everyone else seemed to get it.

Hahaha no I mean when like three paragraphs of a fic contain descriptions of what people look like - that drives me mad. Obviously once in awhile descriptions are necessary - I do it once in this fic, I think - but only for a line or two. :P

My writing process is bizarre, actually. I don't usually come up with straight-out ideas for a story, I randomly think of lines. This fic? Spawned from just the title. I thought of the title first, and then started with #11. Those bits of dialogue blew up into this whole thing because rosie_not_rose said she wanted a fic where they got together. But I don't really do first drafts and second drafts - I basically edit as I go along. When I wrote the last sentence of this fic it was finished because I just obsessively edit every line as I write it. I'm just strange. hahahaha

What, no Booth with "eyes like chocolate" or Brennan with "alabaster skin"?! That's it, you're officially off my reading list ;)

I always feel like I should be doing drafts, but actually what I do, if I'm feeling especially ambitious, is read through what I wrote last time when I sit down to continue (and cut.) But mostly I just write and change/cut as I go along. I have a notebook with random lines - often based on what I hear/see. Once I wrote a multichapter based on two words scribbled down in my green moleskine. A scent is the base for my current fic. Guess that's makes me bizarre too...

That's very nice of you, writing what people say they want. I'm not nice like that at all.

OMG STOP. hahahahaha ;D

Oh awesome! Someone who writes weird like me! Other people are always going on a betas and drafts and etc etc and I'm like, hey you, don't touch my fic, YOU DON'T GET ME.

lol well sometimes when I'm feeling uninspired I do request posts, for people who want me to write their favourite pairings. It's good practice. :P

Betas, yeah I know, you're supposed to have one of those. I don't.

I can see why requests are good practice. I'm considering writing something for the 'What if' comment fic.

Requests? Here's one - 5000 words on Booth and his pair of oozing chocolate pools.

I'm writing one "what if" now that's based off of the s6 finale of Grey's Anatomy - what if Meredith hadn't miscarried. I love "what if" fics.

LOL NO JOKE I'M WRITING A FIC FOR SOMEONE WHO JUST WANTED LIKE 3,000 WORDS OF BB STARING INTO EACH OTHERS' EYES ADORINGLY. It's going to be one of those "9 times Booth and Brennan locked eyes and the one time they didn't" type-things. Idk when I'll ever get around to it though, I'm writing like 3 fics at once right now. Oh dear.

Grey's Anatomy is one of my bubble wrap shows, as in I watch a few episodes in a row after a difficult day (snapping bubble wrap = cheap therapy.) Let me know when your fic is finished and I'll bookmark it for one of those "I want to bash my head against the wall" days ;)

Please feel free to use 'oozing chocolate pools' in your eye staring fic...

3 fics at once, now that makes sense. I tend to write oneshots while writing multichapter ones. If you follow the 'standard form' I understand it's ONE fic at a time together with the draft process and using a beta. Do let me know if you have/discover any other writing habits outside the standard ones, seems they're the ones that work for both of us!
