A/N: I have good things planned, promise. I just needed them to break up first ;)
Jensen kisses Jared, knowing it’s going to be the last time in a while - maybe forever. He can’t do this anymore, can’t be just another notch on Jared’s bed. He’s ready for something serious and Jared’s not. It was fun, the sex was fantastic, but Jensen really thought they had something. Guess it was just his imagination.
Jared doesn’t look much better than Jensen feels, because he knows this does mean something for Jared, but it’s just not enough. It doesn’t mean enough and isn’t that the bitch of it all.
If Jared were just scared, they could work through it, but he doesn’t even want to try, and Jensen can’t let his heart get broken more than it already is. He has a feeling it’s never going to be whole again, no matter how much he tries to pick up the pieces and patch it together.
“I guess I’ll see you around then, Jay…Jared,” Jensen amends. No more nicknames or terms of endearment. Jared’s eyes widen a little and he nods.
“Yeah, I’ll see you, Jen..sen,” Jared replies and leans down for a peck on the cheek. Jared turns and walks away quickly, not saying anything else and Jensen can only watch as the guy that was supposed to be a rebound and became his entire world walks away from him.
