Gift giving is probably Jensen’s least favorite thing in the world, right after going to the dentist. He knows he’s horrible at it, even though Jared, husband of almost three years now, tells him he loves his present every time. And Jared must love him because Jensen got him a vacuum one year. A vacuum! But that’s Jared, always grateful, and always wanting to make Jensen happy. So Jensen tells himself that this year has to be really spectacular.

He scours the Internet, searching for what to get Jared, and he thinks he’s finally got something. God bless the Internet.

The items he ordered come a day before their anniversary and Jensen’s so glad, because he had been worried about whether or not they’d arrive in time. Jared’s off from shooting and Jensen doesn’t have to go to set either, so they spend the morning of their anniversary wrapped up in bed - like they have for the past 6 years, while they were dating and now that they’re married.

They make love in the morning, filled with heated kisses and broken off moans. Every once in a while, and especially on special occasions, they just reconnect and learn each other’s bodies - what makes them arch in anticipation, grown in delight, and clench fingers in sheets with want.

Jensen touches Jared everywhere he can reach, from the tips of his extra long toes to the ends of his floppy hair and then kissing the slightly sweaty skin after. Jared retaliates by doing the same to him - running feather light touches all over Jensen’s body and following with soft kisses to the flushed skin.

They have a languid breakfast in bed after making it together in the kitchen. The day pretty much revolves around each other for them - never more than a few feet apart and the majority of it spent in bed. Even if they’re just lying there quietly - on the brink of falling asleep.

Then it comes time to exchange presents. Luckily both of them put the presents near the bed so they don’t have to get out of it. They’ve perfected these traditions over years and the day is all about being lazy, so the less moving there is, the better.

Jensen pulls out the two boxes and hands them to Jared, accepting Jared’s box and thin envelope. He realizes they’re both biting their lips in nervousness and Jensen chuckles, leaning over to kiss Jared before nudging him to open his present.

The first box makes Jared laugh as he pulls out the plastic wrapped gummy worm, the ‘largest one ever’ the website had proclaimed. He opens the second box and pulls out a bottle of wine and a note congratulating him for joining a ‘wine of the month’ club. Jared’s smile is bright and happy and Jensen mentally pats himself on the back for picking good gifts. Jared pulls him in for a long slow kiss.

“You did good, Jensen. I love them,” Jared says once he pulls back.

Jensen beams happily and opens the box first, extracting a chocolate body paint kit with a couple bottles of chocolate and two paintbrushes. Jensen raises his eyebrow and laughs, looking over at Jared to see him wink.

“We can use it later today,” Jared promises and Jensen wholeheartedly agrees.

He slips his finger carefully under the flap of the envelope, not wanting to tear it, and removes the paper inside. Jensen reads it and sees that it promises golf lessons with a PGA pro. He knows his eyes are probably wide and looks up to see Jared looking at him worryingly. Jensen climbs on top of Jared and kisses the expression away because only happiness (and lust) should shine on his husbands face this day. Jared’s pretty much the master of present giving and Jensen totally lucked out.

The rest of the day goes by in a haze - limbs tangled around each other, hot wet kisses exchanged, and bodies gliding together in sync. They do end up using the chocolate in the late afternoon when Jensen opens up the box with a smirk and smears some on Jared’s lips, leaning in to taste and lick at the delectable chocolate mixed with the heady taste of Jared. Chocolate ends up getting absolutely everywhere, but it’s definitely worth it to see Jared covered in chocolate and Jensen slowly licking each brush stroke away, revealing the tan skin beneath.

They shower together, debatably causing another mess, but it’s still worth it. As tradition goes, dinner is pizza and wings and beer with chocolate lava cake for dessert. Both of them had somehow forgotten their first anniversary and had ordered from Domino’s and the meal just stuck. It was them in every way - casual and comfortable.

That night, they fall together in bed in a heap, after sitting on the sofa with the dogs for dinner. They spend another hour kissing, just kissing, before falling asleep with i love you on their lips.

All in all, it’s a pretty perfect anniversary and hopefully there are many more to come. Jensen would take freaking out about presents over not having Jared as his husband any day.
