Today I had a thanksgiving lunch with my relatives at China Buffet King. Today I also reaffirmed that I like ice cream, in fact I love ice cream, copious amounts of ice cream.
I guess the more important thing I learned today was that I need to be reintegrated into my chinese heritage. I felt so out of place just starring at my sinister frozen dairy concoction. I could make out the gist of the conversation, but I was never in it unless there was translation. The wholesome laughs of a tight knit family was all around me, and it warmed my soul to an epiphany. Even with my inability to communicate to much of the gathering, I received all sorts of comments from aging aunts and uncles on how I'm older and significantly taller then before. I told them through my parents how university was and how life is for a 18 going on 19 year old guy is. They made me fit in, even if I never did before.
Mmmmmmmmmmmm...family. It sure is damn nice to have one.
