I'm still on the fence about this one. Not saying I won't see, because I totally will, but still ... all these remakes.

I was on the fence when I first heard about it, because it's a pretty iconic horror movie in its own right. But I felt a LOT better about it once I heard they cast Jackie Earle Haley as Freddy. He can handle playing bastards (Watchmen) and child molesters (Little Children), and Freddy is both of those AND a murderer on top of it all. I have faith in his ability to not fuck up. And really, it's not ALWAYS the actors' faults...they can only work with what they're given.

LOL! Oh damn...you just named the ONLY reason I watched the Friday the 13th remake. Was never really a fan of that franchise to begin with, though. Have always been more of an Elm Street fan. :P

I KNOW RIGHT?!? As soon as I heard he'd been cast, all my fears about the movie sucking without Robert Englund mostly went away. I say mostly only because then they went and cast fucking Katie "LULZ MY DADDY WAS ON TEH PARTRIDGE FAMILY YO!" Cassidy and Chace "OOH LOOKIT MAH ABZ I IZ ON GOSSIP GIRL LULZ!" Crawford and Kellan "LOOKIT ME LOOKIT ME I IZ IN TWILIGHT!" Lutz as the teenagers, and the only thing that will rid those fears is their brutal on-screen murders. :D

I haven't actually seen the original of this (I am assuming this is a remake...) but will probably go see this one because of peer pressure XD

My first thought after I posted that was "Y'know, judging by what's usually under the cut for posts like that, the majority of my FList is going to expect someone hot and possibly naked." Sorry about the scare! I just got so damn excited that I posted without thinking. XD

It is indeed a remake, and is worth seeing to watch Johnny Depp before he was badass and Robert Englund be a snarky murdering bastard. Also, I must peer pressure you into seeing The A-Team this summer. So...GO SEE THE A-TEAM THIS SUMMER! PEER PRESSURE PEER PRESSURE PEER PRESSURE!
