Glancing over at the "new arrival," he save Sam an abrupt nod, gesturing with his free hand.
"Come," he ordered tersely, scraping water from his face. "We've not much time."
[I so had to hit Sammy! ♥]

"I'm assuming you know where Cabin N is," he replied, a little amused at himself for not knowing even after a few days. "Jonathan said that it's between 12 and 1."
As Sam stepped out from the relative safety of the shop, he could already see the water from the pool rising up to the edge of the concrete.

Abruptly swinging back to Sam, he asked abruptly, "Light. If you have it, use it now. But hurry." With that, he gestured impatiently for the other to follow, brusquely jogging off in the direction of the northern cabins.

"I need to get batteries!" the hunter shouted in the General's direction, not quite sure if the other was already too far away to hear him over the wind and pounding rain.
And, without waiting for a reply, the sasquatch of man hurried back inside, quickly searching the wall for four different types of batteries and shoving them into his boots: AA, AAA, C, and D.

The General briefly considered screaming at the boy to hurry the hell up, but knew the noise would undoubtedly draw the monsters' attention, but he couldn't resist delivering his military scowl at the lad when he reemerged. They were of a height, and feline MAKO eyes were hard.
"Are you quite done?"
[Omg, Sam. ♥ PINEAPPLE FLASHLIGHT AND FORGOT THE BATTERIES!!!]

"We needed those," the hunter protested, feeling a little sheepish but knowing just how important the batteries were. "But yeah, I think I have everything."
To accompany his words, Sam nodded, just to make sure the point was thoroughly hammered in if he could not be heard above the maelstrom around them. Quickly, Sam clicked the pineapple flashlight on, which shone out in front of him from the bottom of the pineapple.
"Let's go!"

Masamune held at the ready, Sephiroth set a brisk pace, hoping the rain would dampen their scent and muffle their passing from the large beasts.
[If you wants to jump in Prophet's log whenever, that's cool. I think Dante and Vincent are still outside. Or we can has monsters attack 'gain.]

The large sword glistened in the light from Sam's flashlight, almost seeming eager to rend flesh and bone. Sephiroth tensed; he knew well how fast and dangerous these things were, he'd been battling against them ever since night fell.
"...be ready..." he warned ominously.

Barely murmuring in response, "I have your back."
Sam would keep his word to the best of his ability although against a foreign creature he had had no experience with could end badly.

It moved closer until their outline was visible. Barely... but enough. On broad fists and feet it moved faster than most humans can run, bellowing its need to kill and feast.

Shouting a warning to Sam, the General tried to shove the boy out of the way, but the slick concrete had him just slightly off balance and the movement was too fast to correct once started.

The monster roared, claws shrieking over the sidewalk as it crouched and prepared to pounce, intending to rip the boy to shreds.

Seeing the beast lumbering towards Sam, the General snatched up his blade once more and bellowed his own challenge to the beast, drawing back the heavy sword in preparation for what he prayed to be a killing blow.
