My drawing class starts at 8:30. Today, I was done class at 9:30 O_o. And that's because we didn't have a proper critique.. we just got into groups of threes to look at/talk about our drawings. It kinda sucks that most of us (probably) spend a lot of time on our projects, and we didn't even get a chance to show off (a little) in front of the class haha.
So for my drawing, I wanted to incorporate a self-portrait, so I chose a landscape from a place I've travelled to before. This pic was taken in winter 2004.. back when I was emo/had long hair haha.
I did the drawing on two sheets of vellum, and overlapped them. I'm pretty satisfied with the results, but it was so annoying to do because there were so many details.
2nd layer. And a close up. Flash show the details better, but it always makes the darkly shaded areas shiny =/
And here's my painting, based again on a still life:
We had to have an oval in the center of the canvas as a challenge towards our composition.
