Disneyland Day 1

I am back from Disneyland!

We had 4 days in the happiest place on earth. It felt surreal to be there.

You can see more of the photos here.

We got up at 3am, and were out the door by 4am. It was raining as we left. Whilst I will never say no to rain, trying to leave for Disneyland at 4am and have it rain isn't... the most ideal.

I had only had about 3 hours of sleep, and this unflattering selfie is exactly how I felt.

Photographic representation of my brain.

Even in drought, California is so beautiful.

We stopped for a (drama-ridden) breakfast at Harris Ranch. which was the half way point between Disneyland and home.

Trying to get pics of bunnies in the bathroom.

At least I wasn't bloated yet! HAAAAAAAAAAA.

We're here!

We had been told both verbally over the phone and via app chat (which I had, thankfully, made Abuela take a screen shot of), and through some negotiation, we got to tack on the extra day!

We couldn't believe it! (I mean, I could, but whatever, lol).

Everything was decorated for Halloween!

We ran into Chip and Dale first thing, and the bunnies were elated! We love Chip and Dale!

Disney's next star, hahaha! Hire him, Disney!

Miss Thing, marching straight towards the castle. I know everyone sees the castles as being iconic, but that's honestly never my first choice destination for the park, but I was there for the kids, not for me, and it just strikes me as amusing that she knew exactly where to go!

After a couple of rides, Kiri wanted to do Mr. Toad. We did tell her it was a little scary, but she wanted to at least try.

And she was READY to drive!

Her brother liked it better than she did, but she ended up wanting to do it again, hahaha.

Next, of COURSE was Dumbo.

We did a bunch of attractions, and then my step sister and her husband took my nephew to go nap, so we can Kiri for ourselves for a bit. My friend Mara and her son joined us! Sadly, we didn't get any selfies. :(

We decided to try Pirates, JUST to see.

We saw Jack and Sally, which sent Kiri over the moon with joy.

In what would become a trend for the entire trip, we got stuck on Pirates for about 35 minutes, and had to be evacuated!

We had cannons roaring in our ears and got splashed by "cannon balls" landing in the water the entire time, and both Mara's son and I got sick from the fog.

I will say, Pirates looks pretty cool, even with the lights on.

Kiri did SO GOOD! I was so proud of her. She wouldn't get to ride it again until the last day.

Mara and her son and I went off for a little bit to ride Indiana Jones and to just have some much needed time to ourselves.

After we said goodbye for the night, I met back up with the fam and we did some fun Fantasyland stuff, like the Casey Junior train and carousel (again).

Both kids slept through the entirety of the fireworks, as only kids can do.

One of the reasons I was there was to ride Splash Mountain a whole bunch to say goodbye to it (more on that in a later entry). My family ended up wanting to ride it with me the first night!

We got absolutely soaked and my clothes didn't even dry when I got home. I had to put everything in a bag a couple of days later, because we had put them on one of the chairs to dry, and they didn't! Not even in the heat!

Saying goodnight to my one true love!

We ended up on the train back to Main Street because we were too wet to walk (hahahaha).

Goodnight until tomorrow, Disneyland!

Little did I know that I would get back to the hotel room and it would be number 19, which is one of my sacred and lucky numbers.

callan, kiri, disneyland, vacation, brer rabbit, splash mountain, family, disneyland!
