Well I'm off to Uni on Saturday and my paycheck's finally arrived so I'll have SOME money to see me through Fresher's Week. I'm getting the feeling this is the end of an era for me and I guess everyone (you don't say). One thing that got me though is the bands I used to go and see at the Pioneer when Dom put gigs on, I always thought those gigs defined my teenage years to a certain extent (ugh how corny is that). Now however it seems things are changing, the latest newsletter from Household Name came with a list of bands from that label which have now split up (Five Knuckle, Howards Alias and The Filaments are three you might know) and Rich has also left Captain E (don't worry, he's been replaced by some guy called Blake, I think he played this years Parmstock with them). So it may sound weird but I feel kinda weird, obviously I knew these bands (and others like them) wouldn't be around for ever but I guess I didn't want to accept that... Oh well, I don't wanna start getting all soppy so I think I'll just take this as being a sign of a new era, I'm sure there'll be plenty of semi-underground bands in Southampton... w00t...
